Cafe El Faro — Restaurant in Christchurch

I work in the area so frequently visit this cafe before my shift in the morning and sometimes during my break as well.

I love this place! The staff seem to make a point to greet every person that comes through the door and seem to have a rapport with all their customers.

I love the small cosy environment and the bagels are amazing!

With so many hospitality venues struggling etc it's refreshing to see this place is never empty, the staff must be doing something right!

Keep it up guys, definitely got a return customer here!...

Have been to this place many times but today left a bad taste in my mouth. Will never go again. I'll go to 1027 around the corner with my dogs. I was there with my puppy he barked for two periods for no longer than 10 seconds while I quietened him down. We were there for one and half hours so majority of those one and half he was quiet. I was told I'd have to put him in the car if happened again. This was not prolonged barking and I got him to stop within a timely manner. A complete over reaction....

I ordered a keto frittata from the cabinet. It was heated and served with a salad with dressing full of sugar, a house made tomato relish with sugar. What was White's was it was dry and rubbery. Not at all pleasant and they had no interest in engaging in a conversation about it. It's was 'that's what it's served with'.
