Heirloom Café — Restaurant in Christchurch

Hi, I came in today with my toddler who is under two for a hot chocolate (for me), a fluffy (for my toddler) and a Blueberry muffin. The muffin was absoloutly delicious. I tested my sons fluffy before giving it to him and thank goodness I did because it was so hot it literally burned my tongue. Imagine if I didn't test it and I just gave it to my son, his whole mouth would have been scolded, my tongue is still sore and it been almost 9 hours. I'm assuming the same milk was used that was heated for my hot chocolate. The barista needs to check the temperature please, they have a thermometer, please no more than 37 degrees. I told the girl who brought it over to us and she went and put some cold milk in it so it was fine but she didn't even apologize or even acknowledge the situation. It was around about 11.30am, maybe just have a word so she or whoever else knows for next time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me bringing my toddler in for a muffin and a fluffy so I hope I'm not going to receive any comments like we'll don't take your child to cafes then. We will still be back, it's a very nice cafe with delicious muffins I'm Judy leaving this review so hopefully this doesn't happen again. Thanks.

My new favourite café!! Not only is every item on the menu beautifully presented, but they taste amazing too!! Their drinks menu has creative options which are quite nice! My favourite food item is the ‘Hash with Seoul’ It’s sooo gooood! If you love kimchi it’s a must try! I have noticed that it varies depending on who is cooking but it is still amazing every-time! I also tried a croquet for the first time here,I would definitely recommend for cheese lovers, it was oozing with cheese and you could taste a variety of cheese’s. The strawberry matcha is so good as-well, the strawberry tastes like blended strawberries rather than strawberry flavouring. Everything tastes like it is made with quality ingredients and love! The seating is limited here as it is a small café. I couldn’t recommend this café enough! Part of me wants to keep it a secret so i can always find...

Absolutely everything about Heirloom is incredible! It’s a bright & open space with lots of lovely greenery & local artwork, and even when it’s bustling you still feel like you’ve got your own space! Service is welcoming & attentive, and the food and drinks are just to die for. The cabinet slices have never done me wrong, neither has their extensive drink selection — it’s like a cocktail menu, except it’s coffee & matcha — seriously every drink I have tried has blown me away. Think lemon brûlée & salted orange matcha, biscoff & banana bread lattes, the list goes on.
