Omg I'm totally astounded that I'm only the 2nd person to comment on this absolute darling of a cafe. It may not seem like much from exterior but walking in will give you euphoric fuzzy feelings. I just loved it's whole up cycled decor vibe which makes one feel so chilled when dining. It felt gloriously good like they way you'd chill out at your own pad. They counter staff were just so easy going and everything was just like no worries she'll be right can do. If you love real good rustic and charming Kiwi tucker you'll cartwheel with joy here. Their succulent lambs fry and crisp bacon main was just so flavoursome and mouthwatering in it's rich velvety gravy bath that I cannot utter enough positive superlatives. Their smashed potato was golden and moist and the egg on top was cooked to chefs perfection. If you miss home, you'll honestly feel as if you've just had a meal at moms here. Their salads were companioned with divine relishes and garlicy aioli that you'd just like to bathe in. I was in New Brighton yesterday in need of breakfast. Dear God! What a wonderful decision. I ordered the eggs bene and I have to say it was the best I have eaten 😋 in along time. If not the best. The latte was superb as well. The place is funky in a retro kind of way and the service friendly, warm and spectacular. Back to the EB... The cook brought it to my table and explained that she sources the veges fresh from her garden. She also told me that the sauce, not your usual hollandaise, was a thing of her own devising. Kinda like a tsatziki and absolutely perfect 🥰 . And the bacon was cooked to perfection. This wee cafe is a hidden gem in an aotherwise struggling area. I have been meaning to do a review for Kitchen 109 for quite some time now. This café is my go to when I'm in New Brighton, which is almost daily as I work in New Brighton...I'd be shocked and appalled at myself for this detail, if the food wasn't so AMAZING!
