This is the physical restaurant version of the food caravan these guys operate. We came here to try out their vegetarian burgers as our dinner stop en route to some booked entertainment. Unfortunately one of the burgers ('The Fatty') was not received, but instead we got some meat laden burger with an actual meat patty and bacon! It's extremely unlikely I'll give anything over one star for getting the wrong food, especially when it's got meat in it, however... We went back, showed them what they gave us ('Fatty' was even written on the box) and they promptly offered to cook another, correct burger. I said we couldn't as we were in a hurry now (it take's a while for your order to be prepared here) so they gave us a refund AND a voucher. They were great on the customer service front, including problem resolution, and the burger we did get was really nice. Between the time we had our first look at these guys (a week earlier), grabbing the menu and deciding to add them to our night out plans the menu had changed slightly, in that adding 'Facon' (vegan bacon) to a burger had jumped from $1 to $3!!! When queried the answer was simply "Yea, we had to"... a disappointing reply, so no facon added... While the order/cook time was slow (about 25 mins for our two burgers), and the premises are noisy, we'll definitely be back to give them another go. Calling ahead and takeaway recommended, unless you like a loud environment when dining.

I’ve been hearing rumours of a place doing “really good burgers” in Brighton, I finally made it in to see what all the fuss is about. I wasn’t disappointed. Our small gang rocked up and immediately appreciated the vibe, well branded, very burger jointy. Funky tunes, plywood fixtures and little burgers etched into the tables. Cool. After some hard decision making we made our orders and with some impressive speed our food came out promptly. I ordered the the Hawaiian laden burger, with added onion rings… it was big, had big taste, it was bloody good actually! Everything was fresh and seemingly of good quality. Maybe I just ordered well, the rest of the team didn’t reach my levels of enthusiastic. The chicken burger I believe was well appreciated, the pulled-pork loaded fries fell flat for Claire and The Fatty burger left Caroline with feelings of regret, “I should have ordered that Smokey burger!” She told us. I did nibble some of the pulled-pork fries, and liked it, but admittedly it lacked a certain balance — some fresh, diced herbs or tangy pickles might have picked it up, just my opinion. If you’re a fan of American style cuisine, big burgers, bigger flavours, try it out.

We made our way to the Burger Joint line of by accident because our initial lunch plans fell through. We immediately liked the friendly outdoor area and kind waitstaff. We’re not the easiest of customers, with two children under five who had been out swimming for the past couple of hours. They accommodated our weird requests (fried egg on a plate) without even a sideways glance. The Burgers were heavenly. My husband and I both had the fried chicken burger, as we are usually cautious of a new burger joint.. we did not need to worry. Perfectly crafted and well sauced. My son loved his smiley face inside his burger. We also couldn’t get over the onion rings. They rivalled the glory of American onion rings and took us back to the past when we could travel. We also rated their decor, toy fridge and ongoing friendly customer service. Thanks!

Dusty and Unhygienic. While eating my food outside, surrounded by unloved garden beds, I witnessed a staff member cleaning the gelato freezer. They did not have gloves on. They used spray and wipe in the freezer while still having full gelato tubs in it. A skewer was also used to assist with cleaning… I would hate to imagine the debris that fell into the gelato. The staff member had long hair tied up in a pony tail. This appeared hard to keep out of the tubs of gelato. Someone happened to order gelato when the cleaning was in process. They did not wash their hands in between the process. The cones come from a container that is not sealed. What critters and vermin get into the container?

Further behind the Gelato freezer, houses the excess boxes of drinks that sit on the ground and beside this stands dusty glassware. It makes me wonder what the kitchen standards are?

The burger I got was a BFC. It’s has panco crumb, which I find strange as it says ‘Brighton fried chicken’. It’s not what you expect as fried chicken. Panco is usually used on seafood or in Japanese dishes.

The fried has a fake tasting cheese on top with a packet like gravy.

I was soooooo disappointed along with the people I dined with. What’s happened to this...
