New Brighton Pier, a marvel of human engineering that boldly thrusts itself into the churning embrace of the wild ocean. Picture it: a massive structure stretching into the sea, where land meets water in a dance as old as time.

The pier is not just a mere walkway—it's an awesome feature that offers a surreal experience. Standing out there, with the wind whipping around you and the waves crashing below, it's like being on the edge of the world. The sensation is both thrilling and oddly serene, as if you’ve found a quiet spot in the midst of nature’s chaos.

And then there are the surfers. Watching them from the pier, carving through the waves with impressive skill, is like observing artists at work. Each ride is a masterpiece of balance and bravery, making you appreciate the sheer beauty and power of the ocean even more.

But watch out for the fisher people! They always seem to snag the best spots, setting up their gear like seasoned professionals guarding a treasured secret. It’s like they have an unspoken agreement with the sea to secure the prime real estate on the pier.

So, if you ever find yourself in New Brighton and crave an adventure that combines the majesty of the sea with the thrill of human daring, the pier is your place. It's like having a front-row seat to nature's most exhilarating show, where every wave tells a new story—just mind the fisher folk as you find your perfect...

This is a highlight type place to visit. Walk out along the bridge to the horizon (pier), stroll around the shops, visit the dry playfround wit its swings, rocker and pirate ship " Aaaaargh!" . On a warm day like we had, you can sneak onto the splash pad, while you're 'watching the kids'. Teres a grea waterfall for those game for a fast cooling, water cannons for cooling others, fountains that star right underneath you as you walk around, and a good sized paddling pool complete with a large whale to climb on and slide off into the water. There are grassed areas and seating to just sit and watch, as well as a sandpit. There's even a cafe, and, when we were there, Mr Whippy put in an appearance on the near side of the large free parking area. We had to eat ours quickly because it was a very warm day. My only criticism is that they could do with a few more trash bins. I know there are some nearby, but from research I was involved in some time ago, people onl carry rubbish 21 sreps on average even when they can see a bin. The Brighton beach was quite rouhh on the day, but on a calm day, it would be a great place to bathe and sunbathe. Wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Brighton Pier and Brighton in general! Don't forget the bikini or the budgie smugglers, but take something warm to put on if the...

It's a pier alright! Sticks right out there into the sea. I went with family during the Christmas break. The beach is wet and sandy, top notch. There's a kids play area that resembles a boat. Ironic! The urban beach, where kids can splash about under fountains, right next to an actual beach, is in itself a commentary on our culture. It is a single line poem reading: this would make more sense literally anywhere but here. There are places to eat also, cafes, takeaways. It was a gloriously warm sunny day, but the Pier cannot take credit for that. If it was rainy, I simply wouldn't have gone. I'd put my brain in storage for the holiday, and with family and kids and all that, this was a great place to take a bunch of people without a plan or any structure. The whole experience of was some kind of dream state that leaves me every so slightly unsure whether I was...
