What an odd place. There are 11 people at the conveyor belt. They put out one place of salmon nigiri at a time. Their siesta time is at 2pm, so an hour and a half until end of lunch service (not that it should matter at all)
We're at the beginning of the belt, pick it up, and watch the disappointment in the family of 6 down the line.
This goes for all of the common nigiri. Keeping in mind, we're the first at the belt so we see everything that comes out first. In the 45 minutes we've been here, we have seen a total of 3 plates of salmon nigiri 1 plate spicy salmon roll 1 place California roll 2 plates of maguro 4 plates of teriyaki salmon nigiri
Not even trying to compare this to any places in Japan, but even trying to do conveyor belt sushi and being this inattentive to the belt is really awful. At no point should people at the beginning of the belt see empty plaques going by, they should be removed and then replaced with a few plates.
The food itself is fine, if you get some, but it's kind of a waste of time with Koji...
Read moreWent for the buffet special, the "all you can eat for $40pp" as this seemed a reasonable price.
I caution anyone taking this deal up. It covers most, but not all, of the items that trundle past you on the "sushi train".
It covers 4 of the plate colours. There are other colors outside of these 4 colours and these are not cheap. The black plates- which are mainly desserts, cost $8.
So because I didn't understand this, my $80 for 2 people turned into around $130. To be fair though the plate colour thing was explained on the Facebook post that I booked from.
This type of "all you can eat buffett" is not how I understand it though. It is like going to a buffett restaurant and being told that you are being charged extra because some of the food on display was not part of the deal.
If it is part of the deal it should be there. If not, it needs to be ordered separately off the menu.
Do I think I was mislead? Maybe.
Do I feel they are trying to mislead? No. It is just...
Read moreWe visited last night and wow we were blown away! The sashimi was fresh, beef tataki melted in our mouths, oysters were insane and everything else we got was extremely tasty and most importantly fresh as you would expect from a Japanese restaurant. We had plated dishes but also couldn’t resist grabbing some salmon Sashimi off the sushi train going by our table, and that slapped hard af too! Atmosphere was up market but inviting and the service was prompt and efficient. We were greeted at the door almost immediately by one of the chefs and seated for our 6pm booking fast. We spent $150 for two Japanese cuisine loving people including the 15% holiday charge (which we received a call about immediately after making the booking online which was nice) and left extremely satisfied having sampled a verity of dishes. Also as the designated drive in this relationship, ice cold 0% Asahi and ample parking right out front was a plus. 11/10 and will be adding Kumos to our...
