(Addington) Krung Thep Thai Street Food — Restaurant in Christchurch

29th December - I was looking for Thai food around Addington area and found this wee little Thai takeaway shop on Lincoln Road directly across the Town Tonic restaurant. It is painted in yellow and has only opened a month (Nov 2021). It is the only one in Christchurch while there is one in Bay of Plenty and one in Auckland.

Anyway, I ordered one chicken Pad Thai and one chicken red curry. Both dishes were delicious and tasty. The pad thai tasted different from other Thai restaurants and I feel it has an authentic flavour that you get from Thailand 🇹🇭. You can stipulate the spiciness of the dishes and I opted for Thai hot but still not enough for me.... 😂 😂..

As this is a takeaway only and no dine in, you can only order from the window and you can sit outside to wait for your orders.

This is a non licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) takeaway. No seating area inside the shop. They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payment (Paywave is available, for those who want to know).

Food was really delicious 😋. Quality of food was outstanding. I tried the massanum slow cook beef and also the Pad see eiw chicken noodle. Both were outstanding considering the tatse and freshness of meat and ingredients used in them. Massanum slow cook beef was a masterpiece from them. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. I would say the quantity was not acceptable compared to other thai take aways. Maybe better if you consider improving the size of food containers. Looking forward to visit...

Yellow curry is always good. The prawns were yum, but the actual fried rice wasn't best. Accepted cash and card. Self-serve water and utensils on table. Food was ready very quickly.
