Firstly, I must apologize for the lack of pictures of my meal at Lonestar Spitfire. The experience was so captivating that I simply couldn't pause to snap a photo. Here's why: On August 8, 2024, I dropped by Lonestar Spitfire for lunch. Greeted by the warm smiles of the servers, I was invited to sit anywhere I liked. Needing a cozy spot to work, I chose a table near the inviting fireplace and quickly got settled. When my food arrived, I was immediately impressed by its presentation. I intended to take a photo, but the allure of the ribs was too strong. One finger dipped into the sauce, and my carnivorous instincts kicked in. Before I knew it, my meal was nearly gone, and my phone lay forgotten. I indulged in the Redneck Ribs with cowboy coleslaw and chips. The ribs were succulent and juicy, the sesame seed sauce perfectly balanced without overwhelming the meat. The coleslaw was a revelation – fresh, crunchy, and bursting with flavor, with each ingredient meticulously measured to perfection. The fries were fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and paired beautifully with the Campfire Ketchup. Though I'm not a professional food critic, as a South African, I know my meat, especially ribs. These ribs were extraordinarily delicious, prompting me to book another visit, this time bringing my wife and child along next week to share in the delight, and yes we will be flying in from Auckland just for this. So, there's my excuse for the empty plate photo. Restaurant: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Staff: 10/10 Food: 1000/10 Would I recommend Lonestar Spitfire? Absolutely. But be warned – you'll find yourself coming back for more. Thank you, Lonestar Spitfire, for an unforgettable meal.

So after a long day, all me and partner wanted was to sit down and enjoy some nice time at a restaurant. Boy did we hope too much. We walked in and found a spot next to the bar area and were immediately told to sit anywhere else as that part was closed. Couple of others were already dining there, but whatever, we moved to another spot. My partner ordered couple of drinks and told the bartender wearing cowboy hat to wait as we needed order some food as well and I was in the toilet. I came back and 2 mins later, the bartender came to our seat and asked us to pay first. We found it so rude as we had already asked for him to wait and it hadn’t even been 5 mins. Our immediate thought was to just walk out, but whatever we went and paid for drinks first and sat down. Everyone else was getting a menu and we asked for one and was told our table is reserved for 5pm and we needed to move. But we were initially asked to sit anywhere in that area and there was no reserved sign. The waitress went around and came back to let us know we can sit in that seat as she moved things around to accomodate us, which sounded so lame to us. Finally we got our food and the potato mash was like it was half done, like the potatoes were cooked and riced but missed the rest of the steps. I couldn’t eat it as it tasted so bland and half done. My partner’s ribeye tasted like rump, was asked for medium rare and it was well done. We were served by 5 or 6 waiters in the end, few of them were nice. Felt like we paid 200+ dollars for a really bad time. Never going back and absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND lone star spitfire. What a waste of money and time!!

My wife and I have been to The Lone Star, Spitfire Square a few times with a good experience, but today Sunday June 9th we decided to go there for lunch. We arrived there just after midday and walked into the bar where a young woman was serving, and I said my wife and I would like to have lunch. She said go and find a table and I will bring the menus over. This was 12:08pm, so we sat down, and I observed a few people at other tables all eating, then a waitress brought drinks out for other tables but no menus for us. At 12:16pm I said to my wife it looks like we are not going to get any service here, so we got up and walked out and walked over to The Coffee Club. We walked in went up to the counter and placed our order and sat down, and within three minutes got served with our coffee and tea. It was only a matter of six minutes after getting our drinks that our meals came out and they were yummy, I had a Mexican Chicken Salad $27.00, and my wife had the Chicken Bacon Cranberry & Brie Flat Grill $25.00 and both meals surpassed our expectations, and this place was packed unlike the Lone Star. We spent $64.94 at The Coffee Club, and that is $64.94 or more that the Lone Star missed out on all because a waitress was inefficient at doing her job and as a result we will never be returning to this particular Lone Star.

me and my girlfriend went to Spitfire Square Lonestar yesterday night around 7:30pm for dinner

We were waiting at front for almost like 3-5 minute to be seated wasn't busy at all and also hall staff saw us standing there BUT no one came to us. They just keep walking around pretend they didn't saw us. Yeah I understand they think they were busy. Finally one staff came to us and she took us to a table. We came to the table and before we seated, she asked for drinks that we haven't seated on a seat....... we could't saw drink menu yet. So we told staff we'll look at drink menu first and make order. This was so weird that why they ask drink order before we saw drink menu? Can you accept that if you are a customer?

I had two bad experience already after I came into restaurant. too long time to be seated ask drink even before we get seated

after 5 minutes later, one lady came and took order. we ordered chicken quesadilla and redneck rips with 2 drinks. Food came late too not as last time. In the kitchen, I can't see many people there so might be lack of chef so we understand for food coming slow. taste was same as before and we liked it. after food came, I asked for 2 small plate. staff never turn up to our table so I went to staff and asked for it. staff said ok. we didn't eat and wait for small plate. Keep waiting waiting for that plate to get it....... I really don't understand why it takes so long to bring 2 small plate to us even it was not busy night. we got sick of waiting again so asked staff AGAIN when she came to next table. Now we finally got the plate and start our food. While we are having food, normally staff came to table and ask if we need anything else? food is ok? need more drinks? I know they've trained like this. Do u know how I know this? Every time I came here, I had that customer service all the time except for yesterday. when I was having food, I finished beer and thinking of ordering one more. Do you know what I was thinking? If staff ask for more beer, I would order it BUTTTTTT just put her hand behind from me and took the glass without saying anything at all lol~ So disappointed :) After this happen, we decided to go back home right away after we finish our meal. I NEVER EVER EXPECT THIS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL HERE. After meal, we went casher to pay. No one there. So wait again. wait wait wait wait EVEN BAR STAFF AND HALL STAFF SAW US. THEY ARE JUST TALKING TALKING AT THE BAR. I was thinking we can go without paying. after 3-5 minute again? someone show up and help us paying. But treat like just pay and go mate~

So we pay and leave quickly :)

For all of this, I feel they are Racist We are asian and do they do same things to all the asian customer? I know staffs get many asians and tourist this season and at the airport. I worked next door before this place open so I understand they might not want to have asian customers. But we never been rude and never ask her dumb things too So disappointed night it was

We live near city so we could go other branches like city centre, bush inn, northland. But I liked to go here because of service. First they opened, we had really awesome male staff who really take care of our table and 4 more time wasn't this bad at all. but I don't know now that we are going there anymore.

If you can't accept of this happen, should look at cameras in the restaurant between 7:30 - 9:30pm My table name was Cindy. They go to kiwi customers ask for if they need more things, food is alright. So shame that they are racist

Should hire better staff and train better Won't go there...

As a big family of 12 we went out for dinner for a birthday. We had a long wait for about an hour for our food but we were paitent and understanding as it was a busy Saturday night. The servers there seemed to have been not trained to their full ability as there we 3 mess ups with our meals at the table. We eventually got all the meals out. Once we had all finished our meals we sat there waiting for our plates to be cleared as we had a cake coming. We had to wait over 20 minutes untill one of the party goiers had asked a server if we could have out table cleared. She responded rudely with "I can't do that, this isn't my area I work over there." And doesn't proceed to get anyone else to clear the table. We eventually rang the service button and then had to wait another 10 minutes before the server came and asked what we needed. We then asked for the cake and the manger. Soon later the manager came over with a sour attitude and basically complaining about them having a busy night and not being apologitic at all. We said that we usually go lone star northland's and the service is much better and quicker there and she responded sarcasticly "well they will be glad to have you back." Which took us completely off guard. she asked if we wanted the bill and we said "no we have a cake" and she said "did you order it?" We said "no, we gave it to the guy at the front who said he would put candels on it and everything when we were done with our meals." She later came back with the cake still in its box and a takeaway box and slamed them on the table, which is when we all gave up and didn't want to be treated like we were any longer so we got up to pay the bill. We were up there with a server and we asked for the email we could contact to complain. The manager then came up with a rude and angry tone in her voice and demeanor. She asked what we wanted and then when told she rudley and aggressively scribbled down the contact. One of us asked her if that was what she usually acts like and she replied with "yes, this is me, this is how I act if you don't like it then there is the door!" We were very confused at this attitude so we were asking why she was being so rude and not hospitable towards us as she is the manager. She took offence to this and started mocking us and what we were saying (we said things as nice and acted mature) but as she kept mocking us, being rude and imature we gave up and just wanted an apology and to leave. She then took it way too far by calling out and mocking a young girl and threatening to call the police on her when she didn't do anything wrong. So then an older party goer steped in and said I'll give you my details then. She mocked him and his name and said "oh your shaking, your shaking." By that time we left the premises unsatisfied and upset about what had just happened to us. As a manager of a restaurant you are meant to be welcoming and hospitable towards everyone even if you are having a bad night or you don't like their attatude, that is what you sign up for working in the industry and she didn't show one ounce of hospitality or kindness towards anyone in our group and we are all disgusted by what had happened to us and we well never ever be going...

As a group of 12 we went into this restaurant with the intents of having a great night for my brothers 23rd, this was the first and ONLY time I myself will ever go here. Coming in the serves was good, being greeted and being seated quite fast, the wait for the mains was quite long but was understanding for the busy Saturday night they were having. But once the mains came out there were three mess ups due to one waiter, this was forgiven as he took the full blame and apologized to everyone, which was good to see as he owned up to his mistake. Once everyone had finished their mains we were left there waiting for 20 plus minutes for our table to be cleared, staff even walked past looking at us completely clueless and didn't have the commen sense to clear the table, one of the members of our party asked a waitress walking past if she could clear the table, she responded in a rude fashion "I can't do that, this isn't my area I work over there." She then walked off and didn't send anyone over to clear the table. After pressing the service button on the table and waiting for 10 minutes for no one to come over, one of the waiters finally came over and we asked for the table to be cleared and the manager.

Once the manager came over she started off explaining in a rude way that tonight was a busy night and her staff had been working hard, without giving and apology, one of our members replied saying that we usually go to Northland's Lone Star and the service is better under the same conditions as it was when we were there. She then rudely and sarcastically replied "Well I'm sure Northland's will be happy to have you back." She then asked if we wanted the bill, which we had given a cake to the front desk and asked at the start of the night if it could brought out with candles and a birthday song which they were happy to do. This did not happen as the manager came out with the cake and the box and slammed it on the table saying "Here is the box for when you are ready to pay the bill." Having this disgusting act of management displayed in front of us we didn't wanna be in such a horrible restaurant anymore, we packed our things, took our cake and headed for the door.

When paying, Chontelle the manager came over and my brother (the birthday boy) asked for the owners contact information, she got very aggressive when my mother asked if she always acted like this, she replied "This is me and this is who I am and how I act, if you don't like it there's the door!" She also starting mocking my 75 year old Grandfather about getting riled up about the situation. This was an absolute disgusting display of management skills, a poor show of staff obligations and ability to serve in hospitality.

The manager and staff who served our table should be ashamed and the owners should focus on the quality of their restaurant as at the state that it's...
