Far too expensive for what we received. Our meals were like warm as was my coffee. $23 for one pancake and bitter blueberries, $25 for soggy French Toast BTW warn people that’s creamed butter not whipped cream, it was white and piped like cream. Best meal was $27 big breakfast (cannot remember name on menu but it was first on list). With time constraints we weren’t in position to complain and get replacements. We’d travelled nearly 4 hours on a mild day, looked forward to hot breakfast.
The kitchen did very well to pace out the meals as fast as they did. Bloke that served us was great. Think he was new as other staff had to do something before our order could be sent. Waitresses - younger was great, speedy and cleared our dishes as we finished drinks/meals. The other one, left chairs!! Not only is it disrespectful to owners property it’s bloody noisy on tiles and inconsiderate but you know that. 2 at my table are suffering from concussions, one had earplugs in just to cope with...
Read moreAwesome Food and Awesome Service from the staff at Spitfire Square. I had the Breakfast Brushetta which was absolutely divine. The menu is fantastic - a large variety of meals to choose from, from breakfast/brunch to lunch/dinner meals. My son is a Vegan and I was so impressed with the wonderful Vegan choices. Not many places in Christchurch cater for Vegans, so that was wonderful to see and greatly appreciated. It was busy so reservations recommended on the weekend. Our reserved table was hijacked by other diners but the staff were very apologetic and went out of their way to get us seated elsewhere after we declined their offer to have the people at our table moved. I can't ask for better service than that. Perhaps allocate reserved tables a number and telling the customers their table number upon booking so they can be sure they are seated at the correct table would help resolve this problem in future. Thank You for the great dining experience. Highly...
Read moreThe staff saw we arrived about 4 to 5mins early when they were just standing around inside doing nothing. It was a -2⁰C morning and they just left us dtanding there frozen.. When they unlocked the door the lady went the long way around the shop, unlocked the far door and greeted her friend in and hugged him while we were still outside freezing. Then she went to the counter and had the guts to serve him. She then came to unlock the door we were at and didnt even appologise or even greet us!! She was incredibly rude and should not be working here in a front line job.
Anyway, we ordered a coffee and a sausage and a coffee which we were served by a much nicer person at the counter. Not sure how to identify 'them' so hopefully thats a respectable way to praise them. They were professional!!! Friendly!!!
The sausage rolls and coffee were great though so 5 stars for the food and -3 stars for ghe...
