Given 2 stars because the staff were friendly and the coffee was well made. This said only almond and coconut milks are offered as alternatives, so the coffee was always going to have a nutty aftertaste, soy is always a better option. Not a great range for vegetarian or vegan food.
Ordered a haloumi salad/bread dish with hummus, avocado and salsa. Wouldn't recommend as came with a single slice of toasted focaccia with a thin layer of hummus, 4 small slices of lukewarm haloumi that were soft despite showing signs of being fried, a salad dominated the plate that was doused in an unpleasantly sour vinaigrette, and a premade salsa which contained the avocado. In my serving I got 4 little cubes of avocado which were around half a cubic centimeter each. The salsa lacked the freshness it should have provided to the dish so all I could taste was the vinaigrette. The hummus tasted like a store-bought hummus and made the bread soggy. Certainly not worth $17.50.
A few simple changes and a little extra effort and this could have been a really great dish to complement the...
Read morecame here with a work voucher for a free coffee and muffin. Was also going to buy a couple of coffees and some scones. Was greeted by a really friendly waiter who advised that he will need to talk to his manager as he didnt know how to ring it up on the till. Along came the manager (small, white woman with glasses) who looked me up and down then said to me "sorry, i dont accept these vouchers. Someone came a couple of days ago and i honored it but in not doing it now..sorry" My response "So you honored one a couple of days ago, but your not doing it now?", in a sarcastic tones she says "yeah im sorry". Please note that the company pays for these vouchers and there is no expiry date on them.
Im not going to say that she racially profiled me, but it damn well felt like it. This is probably one of the most embarrassing experiences i have had in a long time.
I dont not recommend this place.
There are many other great Christchurch businesses out there that can do with the support, this is not...
Read morei hate writing negative reviews but unfortunately i didnât enjoy the food here. i got a mocha which was quite bitter, and then i got the eggs on toast (scrambled on sourdough) with added bacon. the meal was presented well and the rye/wholemeal sourdough was quite nice, but unfortunately the eggs were really flavourless. there was a bunch of pepper, slightly too much, but basically no salt and absolutely no herbs or any other spices. even just some chives or parsley wouldâve really helped add some flavour. iâd usually be okay if i had some sort of sauce to add but with only salt and pepper on the table it really wasnât very enjoyable and i couldnât finish it. my aunt also got poached eggs that were overcooked. the cabinet food looked pretty good and staff were friendly, but unfortunately i think iâll be quite reluctant to come back and try something else as i do feel that a simple eggs on toast should be...
