Pedro's House of Lamb — Restaurant in Christchurch

We heard about Pedro's House of Lamb and decided to to check it out. I was raised on NZ lamb and eating a lot of it on our trip to NZ was 💯 top of list. Although I have enjoyed the different lamb dishes, I've been wanting to have a real lamb meal. Well, I got it at Pedro's.

Due to schedule and operating hours, we needed to walk from downtown ChCh, about 2.5k to this location. We were expecting a sit-down restaurant, this location is more of a to-go place. However, they do have a small bar (pictured) you can eat at.

We got the lamb and potatoes and the lamb and coleslaw. The lamb was terrific 👍🏽 so were the potatoes. Neither of us were wowed by the coleslaw, it was good, just not to our taste. It had a mayo base, which is not our favorite.

All in all, if you are in NZ or Madrid, and craving some great lamb, Pedro's...

Amazingly succulent, juicy and perfectly seasoned tender lamb shoulder ($60). Huge portion of potatoes, and I wish I had some bread rolls to mop up that sauce!

No sit-in options here (dine-in only available in Queenstown) but there is a small counter with stools where we ate. The man at the shop was really friendly and helpful, passing us plates and also offering to help us dispose of the tray and utensils once we were done. So...

Ordered the meal for one and paid 22 nzd. I was eagerly looking forward to enjoying my meal, however, the quantity of meat to potato ratio is unbalanced (more potato less meat). The lamb is delicious, succulent, the scalloped potatoes are tasty, loved the browned edges. My three star rating is mainly owing to the fact there was more potato than the meat, it would be good if there was a balance in portion sizing for the...
