Was here during the xmas week, so plenty of restaurants were shut... and this was one of the few open...
The food was hit and miss. The spicy boiled fish was really good, so I think its worth ordering one of the different variants of this dish. The sizzling hot plate venison was disappointing. boiled dumplings were tasty, and a good sized portion, may be enough for two to share if you're not too hungry.
Prices are pretty steep for the average decor/environment, as well the quality of the food. But this is Te Anau, where there is a lack of choices.
Overall, if you're craving for Chinese food, this is probably the best option in Te Anau? But if you're fine eating other cuisines, I think there are better options to choose from, in the same...

The beef and potato stew was so tender it fell apart in my mouth. The dumplings were also so flavoursome. I wish I could come here regularly, if I lived in NZ I would! We definitely do not have this in Australia that is for sure. The Chinese food here is truly outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and expertly prepared! The pickled fish, 地三鲜 (Three Delicacies of the Earth), and chicken and corn soup were all exceptional.
Especially, 地三鲜—this might just be the best I’ve ever had, in or outside of China.
