I was genuinely surprised to find such incredible Chinese food in a small town! The Chinese food here is truly outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and expertly prepared! The pickled fish, 地三鲜 (Three Delicacies of the Earth), and chicken and corn soup were all exceptional. Especially, 地三鲜—this might just be the best I’ve ever had, in or outside of China. Huge kudos to the chef! Beyond the amazing food, the service was just as impressive. The team is warm, welcoming, and incredibly easy to talk to, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Reka Rawa te Kai! We stayed at the Inn and thought we would pop in to the resteraunt for dinner. The front of house greeted us kindly and seated us with haste. We order dishes that we were fimiliar with and let the chefs at the back do their magic. My gosh the kai was delicious from the fried rice, sweet and sour pork to the braised beef noodles and chicken skewers. Delicious! Everything was full of flavor and the best Chinese food we have had. Thank you so much. P.s love that the tamariki were given free complimentary juice boxes.

Had the diced spicy chicken with peanuts ($43) and it was terrible. We have had Sichuan food all over the USA and in China, and this was just inedible. We had spicy boiled fish which was still similar to many other Sichuan restaurants. The hot and sour soup had no funghi or mushrooms. It was plain soup with egg. I was not impressed with that as well. No refills on water. Hard to communicate what we wanted. The price is too high for the quality of food. Rice has to be ordered separately.

Was here during the xmas week, so plenty of restaurants were shut... and this was one of the few open...

The food was hit and miss. The spicy boiled fish was really good, so I think its worth ordering one of the different variants of this dish. The sizzling hot plate venison was disappointing. boiled dumplings were tasty, and a good sized portion, may be enough for two to share if you're not too hungry.

Prices are pretty steep for the average decor/environment, as well the quality of the food. But this is Te Anau, where there is a lack of choices.

Overall, if you're craving for Chinese food, this is probably the best option in Te Anau? But if you're fine eating other cuisines, I think there are better options to choose from, in the same...

This was the best Chinese food I have ever had!! We are visiting for our honeymoon, and glow worm restaurant is right next to our room. The food was fresh, hot and full of flavour! The beef and potato stew was so tender it fell apart in my mouth. The dumplings were also so flavoursome. I wish I could come here regularly, if I lived in NZ I would! We definitely do not have this in Australia that is for sure. If we ever return to NZ this place will be on my to eat list 100% The staff were all so kind and lovely I had the best experience anyone could...
