Gong cha (Hamilton Central) — Restaurant in Hamilton

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this has to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

It was late, and I drove all the way to Gong Cha after placing a phone order — I even checked the number multiple times to make sure I had called the right store.

When I walked in, I was completely ignored. No greeting, no acknowledgment. I had to walk all the way to the counter before anyone even looked up. I told the staff I had a phone order, and the guy just said, “what do you want?” — no professionalism at all. I explained that I called earlier, and he told me they never received a call. No apology, no attempt to figure it out — just complete disinterest.

I ended up walking out because I felt so disrespected and uncomfortable. The staff clearly didn’t care and were just sitting around on their phones instead of doing their jobs.

This experience put me off completely. I’ll never return to this location, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s no surprise they have so many bad reviews — the staff desperately need proper customer service training.

They were very slow and disorganised during recent level 3 Lockdown in Oct/Nov 2021. Waiting timewas up to 30mins for click and collect order. Ended up having lots of people gathering outside the shop. I think one of the issues is they place the desk by the entrance but their counter and kitchen area is at the back end of the store. So I saw customers had to yell across the shop to the staff who was trying to communicate from behind the counter. Very limited parking space around with traffic wardens lurking around now we are back to Level 2. Will update this review when service level improves and I am...

Really nice!

Ambience: We went in quite late (around 8 - 9 PM) so it was very quiet. The area was super clean, including the bathroom. The area looked really trendy as well.

Staff: The staff were super nice. They took the orders properly and double checked with us before putting the whole order though. They also worked very quickly. I got my drink within 10 minutes, which was great!

Drinks: The pearls from here are top notch! They were perfectly chewy, but they were still super soft. The coconut jelly was also very soft. The drink was perfect, just how I wanted it....
