Dr.Donburi — Restaurant in Hamilton

A slight wait for you food but it's worth it.

I ordered the chicken katsu that came with rice and a salad it was about $15 but I think I accidentally ordered at large meal.

The katsu was crispy with a tasty curry/gravy across it. The rice was cooked perfectly and the salad was well balanced.

The presentation was also restaurant standard unfortunately I got alittle carried away and didn't get a photo till after I'd had afew bites.

This is definitely the place to go if you want a good katsu in Hamilton. I look forward to trying the pork katsu on...

I was craving omurice one day and was looking around Hamilton to see if anyone makes it. Low and behold, Dr Donburi does so, and it is beautiful. Flavoursome in every mouth full, filling, and truly, utterly delicious. I get the omurice with teriyaki tofu and it's the best tofu I have ever had! I bring as many people here as I can and constantly recommend it to others. The owners are delightful, the complimentary miso soup is delicious, and I think about the meal long after it's finished....

A real gem. As good I remember from 20 years ago, when we used to live in Hamilton. Delicious, freshly made food, good sized portions and very reasonable price. Clean and tidy cafe. Loved the fresh, crispy salad, good quality rice and complimentary miso soup. Very nice, not too salty, just right flavour. Service was fast and friendly from the busy team.
