⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Unbelievable sashimi quality—can’t believe I had this in New Zealand!” Living in Hamilton, I never imagined I’d be able to enjoy sashimi of this quality here. Honestly, even in Korea, it’s rare to come across such incredibly fresh and well-prepared sashimi. The fact that I experienced this in New Zealand was truly surprising and deeply appreciated. First of all, the freshness of the fish was absolutely unreal. As soon as I took a bite, the clean taste of the ocean and the delicate texture just melted in my mouth. It genuinely felt like the fish had been caught and sliced that very morning. A wide variety of fish was included, each with its own distinct flavour and texture, keeping every bite exciting. The tuna in particular was perfectly fatty and buttery—truly outstanding. The presentation was equally impressive. It wasn’t just delicious food; it looked like a piece of art. The sashimi was beautifully arranged with garnishes like pickled ginger, wasabi, radish sprouts, and beet slices, all neatly placed and perfect for cleansing the palate. From the moment I placed my order, the service was thoughtful and attentive. The staff guided me with kindness and care, and the packaging was meticulous. Even after the drive home, the sashimi box arrived looking as perfect as when it left the shop. Every detail reflected a genuine passion and pride for what they do. If you’ve ever wondered whether you can find proper sashimi in New Zealand—wonder no more. I 100% highly recommend this place. It’s an absolute gem in Hamilton. Whether it’s for a family gathering, a special celebration, or simply a craving for fresh sashimi, you will not be disappointed.

If you’re looking for a cozy, delicious meal, the Prawn Tempura Udon Noodle Soup is a great choice. This dish combines soft, thick udon noodles with a light, tasty broth that warms you up from the inside. The broth has a mild, savory flavor that isn’t too strong, but still very satisfying. The udon noodles are perfectly cooked—chewy and just the right texture to soak up the broth. What makes this dish special is the prawn tempura. The prawns are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Even after sitting in the soup, the tempura stays crunchy, adding a nice contrast to the soft noodles and broth. A few fresh spring onions and maybe some sesame seeds or seaweed on top give the soup a little extra freshness and flavor. Overall, the Prawn Tempura Udon Noodle Soup is simple, comforting, and delicious—a perfect meal for when you want something warm and filling. Definitely worth trying!

This is my first time eating here at Jungs. I love their sushi because it's so good you want to try the others too. My salmon sushi is fresh. They have sushi for $2 each for the ones on the top shelf, the price varies for sushis at the bottom shelf. They have a lot of variety, I wasn't able to take a photo though. I had spicy pork for my lunch, it was delicious and savoury. it comes with a coke in the can, if you make it a combo. I think you could share it for 2 if you have a small appetite. they also have free miso soup. the place is tidy, the staff are friendly, and the service is great. I recommend you try Jungs ❤️

Nestled in the heart of Hamilton city, JUNGS Japanese Kitchen is a total delight that I stumbled upon yesterday, and wow, it was such a great find! I was blown away to find out it’s run by Chef Jung, a Korean chef with years of experience.

The vibe inside is warm and welcoming — clean, cozy, with an eye-catching sushi display that immediately pulls you in. I went for the chef’s recommendation: a mix of fresh and aburi salmon sushi, paired with a selection of classic rolls, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion! The salmon was insanely fresh, practically melting in my mouth, with the aburi’s light char adding this smoky kick that was just perfect.

What makes it even better is the personal touch. Chef Jung was so friendly, always checking in with a smile and happy to chat about the dishes. The menu’s variety, from Karaage to Donburi, offers something for everyone, and the quality is top-notch.

Price-wise, it’s spot-on for what you get for such a delicious journey for your taste buds —definitely worth it for the quality and care put into every dish. JUNGS Japanese Kitchen is a must-visit… and I can’t wait to try more...
