First time to Henderson branch. On entry a staff asked if I had a reservation and that I needed to have one in advance. I didn't and managed to get a table for the two of us. Got there around 1230pm on Sunday afternoon whilst still quiet and not yet half full. Layout was spacious and clean. Good variety of sides both hot and cold. Noodles and other options to choose from if going meatless but maybe not suited to vegan or if you abstain from pork/beef etc as its all cooked on the same hot plate. And a variety of seafood and various meats (raw). Nice meat cuts, some marinaded in spice. An array of sauces and seasonings to choose from. (The containers and bottles were sticky from so many handling). Fortunately I carry a hand sanitiser. I found no matter how many times you change plates and cutlery, this stickiness is unavoidable. Food was ok, my spouse enjoyed their meal. I liked the sides more and the pancakes with ice cream. Pork and chicken is what I had and there was just the one guy cooking and later there were three when more groups arrived. Hats off to them handling the queues. Pays to go earlier if possible to avoid the crowds and wait. Saw a number of solo diners. Good value for money if you have a big appetite. Friendly staff at the drink station agreed to mix my jug of juice half pineapple and half apple. Actually enjoyed that. Nice atmosphere although I suggest go early before the bigger groups start coming in as it becomes really loud and at one point I thought to ask the waitress if she could ask a certain table to lower their volume. A bit jarring how loud a few at that table was. We moved tables so that was better and finished our meal comfortably. Service was very good, with used plates being cleared from tables often and staff keeping walk ways clear for smooth movement. The decor in the dinning area seemed somewhat out dated and dark but everything that matters like the tables, were clean. Toilets however, in particular around the wash basin where mould had formed needs bleaching. Everything else, well stocked.
I think this is a good place for a less formal catch up with...
Read moreVery happy with this visit. This place gets busy so reservations are highly encouraged. They have both pain and seasoned types of each meat. You can load up your bowl as many times as you like so feel free to experiment with smaller portions to find your perfect recipe. I did seasoned beef with rice noodles, kale, mushrooms, scallions, and broccoli with the Ghengis Khan special sauce. Yum yum! The second trip was plain chicken, kale, broccoli, and pineapple with teriyaki and sweet and sour sauce. Sooooo gooood! There are a few other side items on the buffet including noodle salad (tasty) potato salad (meh), fried rice, soups, breads, pudding, and for dessert ice cream and pancakes. No more spendy than any other night out in NZ so overall a great experience. Key note: Don't visit a Mongolian BBQ if you have any type of food allergy or special dining preference (e.g. no pork, no beef, vegan, etc). It is quite literally impossible to accommodate in this...
Read moreIt's been years since I have been back here not much has changed in terms of appearance what has changed is the quality of the food in the hot deli absolutely delicious we came for dinner and luckily it was empty plenty of different meats to chose from as well as veges
Hot deli consisted of fried chicken nibbles spring rolls garlic bread fried rice hot chips my favorite was the fried chicken nibbles and garlic bread around the back I missed out but they have soups if you are wanting something light instead
Desert area was as per normal range of ice cream flavors with your choice of toppings nuts sprinkles or 100 & 1000s one thing I did notice is the pancakes when requested have shrunk in size very small compared to the ones in the past that would cover the entire plate we requested Coke zero in a jug and I swear it tasted like Pepsi max but I couldn't be bothered complaining
Overall enjoyed dinner here will make a return as...
