WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS SUBWAY!
I am disappointed to be writing a bad review for this franchise and wasting time out of my day to do so but itās better than leaving things unsaid as this is the second time I have had a problem with this stores extremely low standards of customer service. I came to this subway in Howick, around several months ago, wanting to order lunch. Unforgettably, I was refused one by a very rude girl named Madi Page who had a problem with one of my friends in high school around FIVE YEARS AGO.
Today, my partner came to buy his lunch and was served by a lady in her 30ās who he believed to be the manager as she was wearing a different type of uniform than her coworkers. We didnāt get a name because she wasnt wearing a name tag but after waiting for quite some time to be served, whilst she was out the back, instead of assisting him straight away she comes out to the front counter and persists to start restocking. Then finally, after she was ready, she served my partner without a single hello or a smile, wearing no hair net and spoke to him in a rude, monotoned manner.
This subwayās employees are meant to be the face of a very well established chain of restaurants, and Iām sure the founder of subway would be ashamed. This chain is a complete embarrassment in my opinion.
If you want service without a smile, no love invested into your food, hair in your food, then Iād say this is the right...

We ordered pickup from online, when we got there, hadn't even started making it yet and the store was empty. So we sit down and wait. When it's ready, she simply calls "here you go" and nothing else. Not even a "sorry for the wait". Oh well. Get home, and my sister's sub which was supposed to be a chicken bacon ranch, had zero bacon, zero cheese, and 3 of us didn't get the avocado we requested. We went back to sort it out and just her attitude to it is so appalling. Like she doesn't even care. No apology, nothing. I work in hospo and understand sometimes you have bad days and you make mistakes, but your attitude toward the customer is what can make a massive difference and hers was horrendous. On top of that, the fact that you're preparing it while we were in store, they could have told us then and there, that they had run out of avocado. Considering it costs extra, you should tell the customer especially since I payed online. But they didn't. So not only is her attitude horrible, they're robbing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUrgent training needed in customer service. We went in at 11.00am to have an early lunch . We like subway and have had them at various places all around the world, Sweden, Hong Kong, London and China. The customer service has always been good even using sign language!
However Howick was a very unpleasant experience. I did check who it was later. Tracey who was surprisingly in charge.
I was the only one in the shop and I have to wonder about all the times I have been past and seen no one in there. I wonder why?
I asked what the sub of the day was because there was no sign up. It wasn't what I wanted so I hesitated and then started the process of being snarled at. Apparently they haven't had honey oat bread for a year. I chose roast beef and she snarled her way through the other choices. I did challenge her at the end as she was actually really rude in her attitude and manner. She said she was really busy and strode off.
I thought it must be a one off but I see from the other reviews that it is not. Why has something not been done...
