Taste Explosion — Restaurant in Howick

Absolutely disgusting. I visited taste explosion on Friday 6/10/23 as they were advertising keto food options. I bought a slice of "keto" quiche for $13. I asked the man about their keto options and he told me "we only have salad". the quiche I purchased was definitely not keto. I also bought a flat white coffee that tasted like warm milk not coffee, I asked about the coffee, apparently all their coffees are single shot, it went straight in the bin outside. When I got home to eat my quiche I was disgusted to find white mould spores growing on it. on reflection I remember looking at their cabinet food and thinking it all looked very old and sad. I have supported taste explosion on and off over the years and have watched it go from being "just ok" to bad and now worse.... just plain unhygienic and disgusting. I have reported this to auckland council. There is a great variety of good cafes in Howick village to support. dont support this dump. Wrong food was presented as the order number between the printed menu and their order system is different. Went to the counter and the staff wasn't willing to replace the food. Informed her that I ordered according to the print menu they provided which I should entitle for the replacement.( right order has bacon, sausage, egg etc but the wrong order is a vege dish). She unwillingly agree to replace and pointed out the price different approx $1.7 different which I have no objection to pay. Absolutely appalling. Got our order wrong more times than I can count. We were also overcharged but when we requested a refund for the overcharged portion we were ignored. Children's smoothies (this was breakfast time) consisted of ice cream and fruit flavoured sugar syrup, not even close to a fruit smoothie. Their very expensive bagel with cream cheese came with the grand total of a teaspoon of cream cheese, not enough to spread over the bagel. The kids orders were wrong so many times we actually left and went to a cafe that could provide what we ordered. Very expensive and certainly not reflective of quality...
