Boat Ramp Eatery — Restaurant in Napier

If I could give minus 5 stars I would!! Absolutely rude and unwelcoming staff. Poor service and dirty horrible place. Went today ie busy season for them and the place was dead, went to another restaurant immediately after and it's packed.....clearly they are doing something wrong! Don't go! The hideous reply below just fuels what poor service this place offers. We did not ask to swap fries for meat we asked to swap 1 type of potatoes for another literally 1 small change and were told that because we used first table (a marketing tool) we could change then he backtracked as he realised that isn't the right thing to say and said it was their policy!!! As a customer it seems their policy is to not keep customers happy. I don't eat chips I wanted a different type of potatoes that is on the menu not some fancy made up item simple what is already on there that doesn't cost them a thing. Friday lunchtime visit. The food was fine. We all got the cod and scallops. Tasted fresh and not fishy so that was a win, the flavors taste home cooked and not something a chef would pair together. Unfortunately for me it came covered in a raw red onion salsa which I can’t eat but I just scrapped mine off. I didn’t recall the menu mentioning the raw onion. I think a fresh salad would have been so much nicer for lunch. The restaurant was clean except the lamps shade on the ceiling need a clean and some lights replaced. Most people wouldn’t even notice but I notice these things.The toilets were spotlessly clean. The main thing that dropped the star rating was the music was way too loud. Every time a louder song came on everyone talked louder so the place became very noisy. I wish I had of said something. It should only be loud enough to just be noticeable. My friend had booked a table for 13 people for brunch last Sunday for 10.30am.We ordered food and drinks almost straight away.Was told there was a wait on coffees.By 11:45am-no food and no drinks had arrived.there was no cutlery either.We were travelling so went inside and asked how much longer.Was told would have everything in 15 mins.12:pm -two meals came out and then were taken away as were not out tables meals.Had had enough by now so we told the waitress what we had ordered and left.Terrible service.Felt sorry for the few staff on as they just could not cope with the tables and very few people were getting their meals.If you do not have the staff then don’t keep accepting orders.I felt sorry for my friend who felt terrible as it was supposed to have been her birthday celebration and she had booked the table the week before.Would not recommend.Can’t comment on food or drinks as there was none in the hour and a...
