We decided to eat here whilst on holidays in the area , it was close to our accommodation & decor looked beautiful through the windows . Candlelit tables with comfy regal looking chairs. We walked in no booking, started with the Pan Seared Scallops & ravioli, both entrees delicious. We both ordered the Beef Wellington for mains & really enjoyed the cook on the beef & jus. Couldn’t fit dessert in unfortunately. Beer was cold , wine local & fantastic. Staff friendly & welcoming . The decor quite romantic , loved the dim lights with (rechargeable) candles . We had a lovely dinner & experience. Also loved the quirky little saying on the walls.

The people were overall friendly but the wait time for food was awful! Apparently their printer did not print our orders (other table affected). I get that we had a black out the night before but it did take a while for staff to check in with us. However, we will probably visit again if we visit Napier in the future.

Thursday to Saturday in autumn you will dine in wonderful art deco ambience, be waited on like royalty, enjoy delicious local fare beautifully presented and quaff exceptional Hawkes Bay wines. There are any number of restaurants in Napier, but none as good as Churchills. Highly recommended.
