Dajko's Kilim Cafe Napier — Restaurant in Napier

Definitely a restaurant to avoid in Napier. Had the worst experience after going to Kilim restaurant for about 15 years. At, 1pm, 1may 2022, we were waiting a long time in the restaurant and, had no service at all. We were given the complete menu, and was rudely told by the person in charge, Steve that, the menu, which we were given was not being served for lunch. (after the long wait to get service) In the mean time he had served the clients who went to the counter, Steve, then blamed, us that were heard him wrongly, when we had made the mistake. And that the menu was on the board, (see menu, limited board) . My partner is handicapped and Steve aggravated him so badly. We will never ever go there again.

What a mess! Order a mixed meat on rice and my partner Ordered a mixed meat on chips. Lamb is extremely chewy and minimal chicken on both. Took 20 minutes to make, chips were cold and had to ask for salads extra! Turkish is our favourite cuisine and we have eaten at dozens of Turkish food joints. 1/100 do not recommend. This is easily the worst Dish I’ve had from a Turkish restaurant. It’s seems the Owner changed their reply pulling an absolute bluff to cover their poor quality kebab shop, we didn’t get a combo meal neither did we wait 10 minutes before eating our meals. You left your chips for 10 minutes out of the fryer waiting for the chicken to cook hence why they were cold. We won’t need to worry about ordering “the right thing” next time because we won’t be...

Just went there for diner tonight and it was amazing ! The good reviews convinced me into it but my boyfriend wanted Malaysian food ; I managed to make him change his mind and he didn't regret it ! Food was super tasty (we had a halloumi platter, a lamb kebab and the Adana Iskender), the waitress was really nice and helpful, and food was delivered quite quickly in spite of how busy it was on a Christmas night. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable : not too noisy like some restaurants in New Zealand, and the decoration was on point ! I'd recommend it to anyone liking mediterrannean food ! Only downside for me was, I was actually going there to taste their Pide (Turkish pizza) but it was no longer on the menu for now... sad. Still, worth 5...
