Just after 9 pm on a Monday night we were worried that most good food options would be closed, but we were happy to spot the clean looking restaurant with a sign for pasta above the window. Accepting that we were likely to enjoy a more expensive dinner than I would have preferred we went in to check it out. The menu is succinct and has a handful of classic pasta dishes with some optional topping additions and a few sides, as well as a short list of organic and natural wines; but we were shocked when we saw the prices—to be honest I was a bit worried: at these prices perhaps it was too good to be true. My concerns were unfounded. The staff were friendly and allowed me to try my wine before we settled on a bottle. The food was excellent and demonstrated flawless execution of food far too labor intensive for this price range! Papardelle has a beautiful chew and the sauce was reduced to imbue the pasta with its explosive aroma of vegetables and long braised meat. The tortellini and pesto fusili were also cooked to best highlight the pastas texture and seasoned perfectly to make each bite burst with flavour. The rocket salad was a star in its own right with the tender stems of the long rocket leaves giving the salad a nice bitter juicy crunch to complement the perfect coating of sweet balsamic dressing and a generous dose of savoury roasted walnuts and Parmesan. Although we felt a bit guilty asking for dessert as the last ones in the restaurant near 10:00, the staff made it clear we were not rushed. While simple, the torta gianduja is a perfectly cooked slice of flourless chocolate cake that tasted deeply of dark chocolate and complemented our last sips of wine. With such a delivery it’s a place demanding frequent returns, and it’s offered at a price point so that no one has to deny themselves the pleasure. Bravo and best success...

My first time here was pretty good, the second not so good and the third will be the last. It was terrible. Not sure what was worse - the food, the rude staff or the fact that I felt embarrassed to bring my mother who had come for a holiday from Australia to this place. On our replacement meal, my mother had enough cheese for 3 meals and I had hardly any. I asked for some extra cheese and was told it was 3 dollars and pointed out that the difference between what my mother had compared to me was noticable. Next minute a bowl of cheese was practically thrown on the table without a word being said. My mum said the pasta was as chewy as string and when my husband tried the second batch, he said it would be good to use to tie up a parcel. TERRIBLE. We were challenged by the staff who told us to leave our terrible meal behind but after paying nearly 40 bucks for 2 pastas we are in our rights to keep what we paid for. The chef was so rude after I said how terrible the meal was and he said 'see you next time bro' to which my horrified husband said she is a woman, she is not your bro. I thought after sending our food back it might have been better but the service and experience just got worse. After eating Italian food in many amazing places across the world and having Italian family this was as far from Italy as as I could imagine. Don't be so patronizing to people when they have the courage to speak up for something that they know is not okay. Offering a refund might have been the best...

Ridiculous.Don’t have a clue about hospitality. The FOH needs to learn how to talk with delivery partners(or dashers).after picking up the first order from a different restaurant and since I didn’t experience any delay with the first order , I was there at 1154 three minutes earlier than the anticipated time of order being ready.so the FOH girl told me ,u need to wait 6 minutes and mentioned I am “Early” .i asked her 7 minutes after the wait ,if it is ready, she said to me “u have to be more patient as u were early”.well they delayed the order for 5 minutes(many restaurants who serve more customers than 1154 keep the order ready for pickup even 3-4 minutes earlier than Estimated pickup time.so don’t say that excuse that u are busy.) and trying to cover up the mess, she pretended like it’s the dashers fault(blaming I showed up early)Learn how to treat the customers and the delivery partners alike. We try to deliver the order on time and we arrive at the store on time or early .We are not there to get any “Freebies”.We are not your staff Dont show your rudeness to anyone.Keep that rudeness within yourself(FOH girl with long blonde hair ). Hire some professionals who know what they are doing. happened on 17/08 evening.

We are Delivery partners, not...

I have been here a few times and none of my visits here were that impressive. So far out of the ones I have tried, the vodka fusilli was my favourite, but even that was quite sickly towards the end. The most recent one I had was the ravioli. As you can see in the photo, there is a thick layer of oil at the bottom, the entire dish was difficult to finish and I struggled through the last 3 pieces with the very last piece untouched. It was very salty and dense and the flavour did not really come through, it was sprinkled with lots of toasted nuts which to me honestly did not add much to the flavour but only to the texture. My table mate was also unimpressed and thought her dish was very salty. Paying similar prices and also with the ability to book, there are many other Italian restaurants in Wellington that I would prefer over this. After having tried 3 times here, I give them an average of 5.5/10.

Delicious! Best pasta I have tasted! The actual restaurant is a bit smaller and as it is a shared dining space they do not book out tables. We went there before 5 and the vibe was good and chill until mkfe ppl came in but I suppose you can't do anything about that. Nice front open kitchen so you can watch the chefs. Good array of pasta on the menu. Overall would recommend for lunch and for a quick bite. If you are wanting to spend an evening for wining and dining it probably isn't the best spot for that just due to its shared dining capacity. Definitely the place to go for a quick bite though. We ended up getting takeaway which was beautiful but they don't offer paper cutlery so make sure u take your own culterly if you are going to get takeaway.
