Today, we tried something new. Being a Punjabi, I am not a big fan of Haryanvi and Delhi's rubbish food, but we thought it would be good to try something different. One of our acquaintances said this restaurant provides good food, but that's not true. They just do paid promotions with their pimps and try to sell rubbish food in their restaurant. We had a get-together of 4-5 people at our house today, and they spoiled our whole night. First of all, they sold stale food that was weeks or even months old, and then the preparation. Totally overcooked naans and stincky and one the naans got 2 hairs then one of the butter chicken is full of sugar we asked for medium and chicken was releasing sticky and greecy substance when we took a bite and taste like rotten fish and chicken tikka come's with most weird which we are going to pass it to the council and food department becuase we got bloody dead cockroach and we noticed later it was at the bottom left hand side of the box so this clearly show's us how hygienic they are my wife eat that curry and brother is law one of them is still vomiting and another one is hospitalised as my wife is expecting so we clearly told them about our guidelines but they neglected it and still server the harming and poisonous curries to us when we talk with that guy on phone after noticing my voice that i'm punjabi he became racist and abusive toward me so i just want to tell you one thing mate being a local i boycott your resturant and advice others to boycott your resturant too as you don't know how to respect a customer from whom you ran your rubbish resturant bloody delhi7 this resturant is just like it's name like how delhi done with punjabis in 84 they are doing same here too management need to be change and owner has too be present there at all the time if nothing is change or owner can't show his presence then you should put the locks on your resturant as your playing with innocent lifes and one more this if something happens to my wife of my expecting baby better you find a good lawyer as i will make sure that you and your chef's and owner will spend rest of your life behind the bars with single parol and that's my promise i will do anything to put the lock on your rubbish resturant and thorw you guys behind the bars including manager and owner too as i already consulted one the lawyers soo just prey for the well being of my wife and expecting baby and my brother in law who got food poison by your...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but this was such a standout experience I just had to. We had booked an Air B&B in Northland after a late flight from Nelson to attend my daughter's graduation. We decided to pop into the local Indian for a takeaway. We were greeted with such a warm welcome and with such enthusiasm ,despite being the only diners there as it was so late, we decided to stay and eat in.
The manager Depak offered us an indian experience and gave us recommendations to try. We were even given a appetiser of a spicy, warming soup on the house before we started. The food was exceptional and a variety of authentic Indian food you would find back in Northern india.
I haven't experienced such good authentic indian food since living in London. Everything was cooked from scratch and all my strict keto requirements were accommodated with pleasure.
The staff were so friendly and passionate about their food. We decided to eat there again the following night as there were so many choices. Please don't be put off by a big menu, everything is cooked from scratch and you can taste it, with variety of spices coming through each mouthful.
There is no doubt if we return to Wellington we will head straight there for our evening meals. It felt like we were visiting Indian friends cooking genuine homemade indian than a restaurant.
I'm looking forward to returning and seeing the renovation and the new hand designed murals that are planned to enliven the walls.
Wishing every success to Depak and his staff on their wonderful endeavour. Thank you for bringing authentic Indian to New Zealand!
p.s thanks Depak for the Indian cauliflower rice recipe it turned out...
Read moreA foray into suburban curry holes was proceeded with a level of skepticism from the attendees. Online reviews painted an image of a former neighbourhood stalwart with slipping standards. Missing rice, byo seasonings, and missing flavour.
A friend took charge of ordering a unique combination of mains. The inclusion of a prawn saag drew raised eyebrows from the table but was balanced by a safe Rogan Josh, chicken badam pasanda and a special dish: the bullet chicken rajdhani.
The latter was the first to come To the table - firmly ablaze and noisily sizzling much to the surprise and delight of the attendees. Such theatre has yet to be seen, perhaps never will be again.
The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all. well prepared, seasoned and spiced across the board. The prawn saag was testament to our friend’s free wheeling approach to Indian cuisine, and we were rewarded handsomely for his reckless abandon.
With expectations on Delhi 7 mixed at best, it delivered strongly and will be noted as one of the better options...
