The Tale of the Three Friends and the Fateful Chips
In fair Kelburn, where we lay our scene, Three friends of mirth and jest, as bright as sheen, Nick, Kurtis, and Alex , comrades true and kind, Did seek a feast to sate their eager mind.
Upon a sunny morn, their hearts did leap, For word of chips, that golden, crispy heap, They heard proclaimed by George, the jovial cook, Who promised soon a bowl for them to look.
Yet hours passed by with ever-sluggish tread, And as the sun did climb, their hope seemed dead. Their bellies grumbled, patience wearing thin, Their spirits drooped where once was lively grin.
“Why dost the cook delay?” cried Alex in plight, “Are chips not but a simple, fleeting bite?” “I fear,” quoth Nick, “that time doth stretch too long, And joy from us may soon be stolen wrong.”
“Yet fret not,” Kurtis said with thoughtful gaze, “For though the wait is long, it shall not craze. The chips will come, and with them bliss shall reign, Though patience be our burden, not in vain.”
At last, as shadows danced and day grew dim, The fateful bowl arrived, a sight so trim. Its golden hue, the steam that rose so bright, Did banish all their woes from weary sight.
With grateful hearts and hands that shook with glee, They tasted each crisped morsel, light and free. The waiting time was but a fleeting strain, For in their joy, the moment was not vain.
So let this tale to every soul convey, Good things oft come in their own due way. Though time may drag and patience wear you thin, The joy of waiting oft brings...
Read moreWill not go again anytime soon. Tonight my daughter (9yo) and I went for to KVP for dinner. We walked in and it wasn't too busy (still early). We got to pick our seat and the staff were friendly. This is why they got one star. The second star is for past experiences that were ok. Everything was terrible from there on. We then waited 5 minutes waiting for a menu, so I finally walked up to the till and asked for two menus. They struggled to find them, but managed to locate one. 5 minutes later we ordered. I got fish tacos and my daughter got the American hamburger special. Another 5 minutes later we got our drinks. And then we waited and waited and waited. It took 35 minutes to get the special of the night and fish tacos made with breaded frozen fish "bites". The hamburger was coated in ketchup and kept falling apart. We had to ask for tomato sauce, and the one we got had a lid that kept falling off. I had to go get my own salt and pepper. The fish was bland. And again not even fresh fish, but greasy breaded fish (more breading than fish). When the waitress asked how the food was, I said it wasn't the best. She shrugged and walked away. I explained to my daughter that they don't really want you to say anything except the food is good. Yeah so the worst dining experience I've had with KVP. We...
Read moreThe bowl of chips sat on the table, gleaming under the kitchen light. Crisp and golden, they were the perfect blend of salt and crunch—a tempting treat for anyone who passed by.
The golden boy, a single chip, perched on the rim of the bowl. It had always been at the top, proud and confident. It knew it would be chosen soon, admired for its perfect shape and lightly salted surface.
But Roger, the bottom chip, resented its position. Crushed under the weight of others, it was greasy, slightly overcooked, and had long lost its crunch. The bottom chip seethed in darkness, its bitterness growing with every passing moment.
One day, the bowl was shaken. The chips tumbled, mixed, and the once proud chip found itself at the bottom, while the antagonist, by a twist of fate, was now at the top. The once-crushed chip basked in the light, finally free from the weight of its brethren. It was quickly picked up and savored, its bitterness hidden by the flavors it had absorbed from its time in the dark.
As g boy crumbled under the weight of its new position, it learned the harsh reality: in the world of chips, fortune was fleeting, and even the mightiest could fall to the bottom...
