Warning: May cause excessive drooling So I heard that Völco bakery opened recently in Kelburn and had to go check it out, mind you, I did go at 1:00 p.m. so there were a few already sold out from the cabinet. I am kind of glad that some were sold out, because this helped limit my choices! They had just introduced the lemon meringue Danish so that must go into the box, they said seating will be available in the next week so you can eat in, excited about this! On the side note, they also do people's coffee, which is my favorite. 🥰 Out of what we got, I particularly was gushing over the pistachio cream-filled doughnut, it was just super pillowy and the cream melt in your mouth! Special note also to the white chocolate cruffin and the crookie & cream croissant, and of course the lemon meringue Danish. The meringue was fluffy and the layer of the Danish was insane, super crispy as well, but I did not get the cut photo of this because while I was getting my camera ready, my friend had already shoved the whole thing down her throat 🤣 While we were there a loyal customer also told me that the cinnamon scroll was 🤩 On top of all these, they have a stone oven and making amazing pizza, and the bonus is that the price of these pastries is super affordable sitting at between $6.50-$7 each! I am so in love with this place, also knowing they are open 7 days a week from 7:30am - 4 p.m. once the seats are installed, I think I will be...

The outside tables were occupied and we managed to grab a seat indoors by the window. Our dog was welcome to be inside so that’s a bonus. Although there was a queue, the service was quick and it wasn’t long till our coffee and heated food were ready. We loved the mushroom, pepper & cheese! Cheesecake, scone and ham & swiss wasn’t too bad either. Our coffees however weren’t the best as they did have a slight sour taste to them. Not sure if this was a one off as it was our first time so would love to drop in for a few...
Read moreWe’ve previously enjoyed the savoury pastries from Volco which are very good but decided to try the pizzas (as opposed to the flatbreads) which are just available on Friday evenings. They were very good. Really nice dough with just the right amount of chewiness and also just the right amount of topping. We had the vegetarian one and the spicy salami. I’d say they were each just the right size for one person. They are not as large as many pizza houses but priced accordingly and I prefer not to have leftover pizza for breakfast anyway - but something to bear in mind if you have a very large appetite. Delightful...
