Eighty Eight Café in Tauranga, New Zealand, is one of those spots that feels like a well-kept secret but also welcoming to everyone. Tucked away at the end of the street in town, it’s the kind of place where you can grab a great coffee, settle in with your laptop, or just enjoy a relaxed meal with friends.
Let’s start with the coffee—it’s seriously good. The baristas clearly know their craft, and you can taste the difference. Whether you’re into a classic flat white or something more adventurous, the coffee is smooth, well-balanced, and made with care. They also have a small but thoughtful menu that focuses on quality, so even the food feels just right.
What I really love about Eighty Eight is how versatile it is. There are three distinct seating areas depending on your mood. The front is perfect for people-watching or soaking up some sunshine. Inside is cozy and ideal if you’re escaping the weather. Then there’s the back patio—a quiet, airy space where you can really relax. It’s also laptop-friendly, so if you need a change of scenery for work, this is a great spot.

I had the Benedict on hash and bagel devine . Took away extremely ample slice of moist cream cheese apricot and pumpkin seed topped carrot cake and Lolly cake... We're comming back. Its not cheap nor terribly expensive. The Haloumi salad wraps are worth trying as...
