Coronation Park — Attraction in North Island

Coronation Park in Tauranga Visited on 29/1/2019

It is a very hot day. After checking out some of the shops along Maunganui Road and Banks Avenue, my wife and I take a short cut through Coronation Park to the Port of Tauranga.

Coronation Park is not a very big park, but the lustrous green lawn and distinctive trees are well maintained. It is a weekday, and the temperature is not ready mild for people to have picnic in the open. In fact, we cannot see anyone in the walking in the park.

I do not think the park has a playground...

This is a well-maintained, grassed public park, without a children's playground. It includes a man-made pond and is located in Central Mt Maunganui CBD. It hosts craft markets on some weekend mornings and evening food markets Friday nights in the summertime. There are no toilets in the park, but they are available in the park perifory on Salisbury Road by the bus stop and...

I love going to the little big markets here. great food stalls and many vendors with something for everyone. there's entertainment by way of solo performers. you can bring your dog too. the pond here could do with a spruce up - its starting to look a bit run down. but the grass is always green and even without the markets it's a nice place to go and sit down....
