Came here for yum cha on a Saturday.

On entry, I can instantly tell the staff standards were lacking. Dressed sloppy and hair not tightened up, it was loose and all over the face. Not just one staff, several.

All the food tastes the same. Very mediocre. Nothing special.

Service was lacking, the staff were not smart enough to multitask and can only do one thing at a time… per trip.. per objective. They walked to the table to do one thing, if they see other things that can be done on the return trip they don’t bother. Perhaps not trained to as the manager failed to do that too. We asked one staff to remove the empty dishes, her immediate response was that someone else will do it, rather then finding someone to do it if she can’t do it herself. We had to ask them 3 times. Then the final staff did remove the dishes but one at a time to the next empty table. It was an eye sore.

When presented with yum cha dishes, the staff lean the tray on the customer’s table. Just appeared to be a very lazy gesture.

The staff did not know throughly what they were serving and didn’t talked clearly. I had to asked them twice.

We booked for yum cha but they couldn’t find our booking.

The lazy Susan was dirty and could not be turned easily. We ended up passing the dishes around because it was too difficult to spin the table. One of our guest got sprayed when the next table was being cleaned.

Prices were over rated. For this ambiance, quality and service, I would expect $25 per head . $30 max because of price rises recently. However, the bill came to $42 per head and we didn’t even order beverages.

I was taken here by people who have been coming over the past 5 years. They also agreed the quality have dropped significantly. They suspect a change of ownership.

The only positive would be the Aunty who served us the roast meat dishes, she was the only one who had a smile and smart enough to take a few empty...

Please excuse me if my rating in wrong but I came for the yum cha experience. I had previously been booked to dragon but as they wouldnt allow us the yum cha experience as we were a table of 2 I searched for a place who could cater to what we were wanting.

The restraunt was clean and the waitress delightful with excellent customer service

However, our order was written on a peice of paper I was under the impression food was brought around to your table and you chose what you wanted. Hence yum cha???

We ordered pork buns which were the best I'd had

Chicken wings cooked perfectly with crunchy coating.

Pork spare ribs which had almost no meat ???

Marinated chicken piece which contained gristle and bone in each piece which was very off putting. Am unsure if this was meant to be like this? Perhaps an authentic dish?

Chicken and mushroom wrap I think it was wrapped I tofu also contained bones similar to a chicken neck. As I was not expecting this once again off putting.

Sticky rice was average.

Dumplings were very large and not what I'm use to the meat was dry and the dumpling sack very heavy and unappealing

Sweet sponge was delightful and mango pudding delish however I was expecting more variety or custard and coconut buns and coconut ice etc.

The food had some amazing flavors however some did not and biting into a piece of meat containing bone is very off putting. Not an experience I would like to have again...

Was extremely disappointed with the food and service quality, food options for yum cha had rotations only for deep fried things and dumplings with no stir fry veges in the time we were sitting to eat. The servers wouldn’t explain what options they had on their trays and even when we asked, we’d get a mumbled response which we couldn’t understand. I specifically asked for some plain steamed rice as they said they had no fried rice options and one of the servers said they have plain steamed rice, only to be brought some sticky rice that had squid hidden in the middle with miscellaneous bits of meat that we weren’t made aware of and only noticed as I checked to spoon some rice out. When the server came back he said you’ve eaten it so you have to pay but we hadn’t eaten any of it and advised them it wasn’t what we ordered, that it was opened out of its leaf wrap to see what it was and the server responded by walking away without resolve so we paid for it any way even though we didn’t eat it. Would not return again, so many other good options and this could...

I’ve had yumcha (dim sum) often in Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, San Francisco and New York. Outside of HK, this is easily the best or second best. Melbourne is up there too (see other reviews). Good sized portions and very reasonably priced with excellent service. The dishes are brought by wait staff on trays rather than pushed in carts so the pace is quick and food remains fresh. The photo shows 5 dishes. We also ordered a soup dumplings (they were huge, but not soupy enough!) and these were plenty for 2 pretty hungry people. We were a party of 2 and got in on a Saturday with 10 mins of opening without a booking. It started to fill up at 12 so definitely book ahead of coming around then or larger group. Will be coming back before leaving WLG to try dishes we didn’t have the space for this round!

Lots of Cantonese people were here for yum cha, so my expectations were high. While the atmosphere was good, the dishes were mostly not. The har gao was fishy, mixed with bamboo and seemed off. The xiu mai was all tough pork. The xiao long bao was all meat and no soup. Taro pan fried cakes were super dry, and chinese donut rice rolls were flattened with too much soy sauce. The chicken feet were delicious though, the only standout dish. The pan fried chive cakes were alao good. The trolley service was also a bit pushy with some of the orders (like the drink cart and desserts) while having to request core dim sum dishes like har gow was a bit odd.

When ppl ask me for yum cha recommendation, Regal is always my first choice. They have nice decent amount of fillings inside the dumplings, service with a smile, they don't charge you an arm and a leg, they don't kick you out after one hour and I think the only down side is that they are upstairs and you can't see it from the street! My favourite is their beef tendon and steamed dumplings, the prawn cheung fun has lots of prawns inside and nice squid too! Brought my picky parents here and even they rave about it, to me that's saying something 🤣 However would only recommend their yum cha, their dinner doesn't quite match 😅
