These guys has the rudest bouncer in history. He was super angry and violent. He seems to have anger problems!
We went out to celebrate our friends 40th birthday over the weekend at Miss Gee. Half way through the night, we went outside for a smoke in the car park next to Miss Gee. My friend has chronic back pain for years and found cannabis as the only medicine to help mellow his pain. We totally aware cannabis is still not legal in NZ (hints why we tried to be respectful and walked out to the car park to have the smoke.) Not realizing the smell had passed through the place. Their bouncer came running to us and yelled at him to put out his smoke or else he will call the police then walked off. Before we even get to proceed what just happened, he came running towards us again seconds after and started yelling at us and pretty much try to push my friend on the ground! This guy has no respect for anyone, nor does he know how to be a decent human being. We had already apologized and put out the smoke. He did not need to violently pushed him, he could just ask nicely and the situation will be resolved so easily, but that wasn't the case. We are all adults, use words to communicate instead of violence. We were told by him that we were not allowed to go back in again. I think that bouncer owe my friend an apology for violently pushing him! It appears that he was looking to start a fight rather then doing his job! If I was the owner, I would not employ someone like him to treat my customers like this....
Read moreThis review is tricky for me and in some regards, certainly a five star review is warranted. My husband and I have been a few and have had a good experience. They have a few delicious vegan options on the menu and the drinks are outstanding. However, last evening left a bad taste in my mouth. My sister is here visiting from Canada and we decided to go out for dinner and a few drinks. We were there early and it was quiet. Our servers were both really friendly and as usual the food and drinks were magnificent. My husband had his nice camera with him and asked if we could take a few pictures inside. The lights and atmosphere are super cool and there was not one soul in there. Our server said it was completely fine but after taking a couple of "artsy" type shots, someone who I assume was the manager rudely came over and told us that wasn't okay, no explanation no, apologies, and completely impudent. I mean, fine, I guess if you have a reasonable explanation for us, but I don't see the issue of taking a few fun pictures. One would assume fun is the aim of an evening out. It's fine if they don't want us taking pictures, it's their place and they can have whatever silly rules they want (though, seriously, how many people take pictures there throughout a night?!) Don't know if we'll...

Miss Gee’s has an incredible atmosphere, great location, fantastic (friendly & helpful) staff & their food & drinks are absolutely to die for.
We were calling in for a late lunch/early dinner before an event, but because the food, drinks, service & everything else was so great we didn’t want to leave & were late to the event.
Between us we had: Butter Prawn Dumplings Spicy Chicken Hawka Roll Crispy Pork Hawka Roll Loaded Tempura Fries Grilled Chick N’ Cheese Burger Choc Chunk Skillet Cookie Chocolate Brownie Dessert of the Week (was a custard stuffed donut) Pretty In Pink Sweet But Sassy Blood Orange Gin Sour
None of us wanted to share our food & (our multiple rounds of) drinks because they were just simply too delicious and we didn’t have time to take photos because they got inhaled.
We’re not locals to Tauranga but I can assure you that I will be back next time I’m there. Honestly, that’s all we were talking about for the rest of the trip.
10/10 recommend, you do not want to go...
