Mount Mellick — Restaurant in North Island

Very disappointed with the behaviour of the security staff. I had ordered food and was waiting outside when I tried to go inside to use the toilet. The security guard was extremely rude and disrespectful, accusing me of being drunk — which was completely untrue. I was just waiting for my food. This kind of attitude towards customers is unacceptable. People should be treated with respect, not with false assumptions and rude behaviour.

Reply: I fully understand and respect your policy on intoxication, but your accusation was completely misplaced. We each had only one drink along with meals for three people — hardly enough to be considered drunk. We were simply waiting for our food when I asked to use the toilet and was refused in an unnecessarily rude manner.

It’s strange that someone who has ordered food is not even allowed to use the toilet and instead gets abused by security. This kind of treatment towards paying customers is completely unacceptable. If one drink is considered intoxication at your venue, then perhaps you should review your serving practices — or stop serving...

Was kicked out for quickly taking a phone call from the missus, who unfortunately was abused at her work, and the owner came out too the area, and without warning, and any reasonable talk, he kicked me out, I tried to tell him my situation, and instead of listening, he had a security guard come and remove me, all i had done, was stand outside to take a phone call, I genuinely didn't mean to disturb the rules of the bar, and if anything I'd enforce the rules, accidents happen, unfortunately the lad or owner of the bar that could have just said a simple correction of, "hey mate ur not aloud to be out here" but instead instantly kicked me out, iv recommended the Mellick to many of my family and friends, unfortunately thus recommendation is no more, the staff have been more than great, along side the music, iv been kick out for 6 months on the basis of this situation, for a bar they has been getting complaints on complains, ud think that keeping customers would be a high priority, iv spent good money at this bar, from now on, I'll be going next door to social club, cheers the owner...

I was on the hunt for some good barbecue ribs and I saw some reviews saying this was a good place so I tried it. I ordered a Guinness and they do a proper pour by letting it settle before they finish and I was very impressed with that perfect temperature too. I ordered the ribs and I was not pleased at all. The meat was very tough chewy lots of fat and cartilage on the bones could not clean the bones off. The meat was very tough. The service was good. I didn’t say anything about the ribs because I figured that that’s just the way that they made them there and I was super excited cause they have a Monday special that I wanted to go back for if the ribs are good and they’re like half price, but I wouldn’t even go back for half price ribs if that’s the quality of them. Now if they see this review and they tell me that maybe they were having a bad day and want to invite me and to try it again I’d be open And would adjust my review according accordingly. otherwise I would not recommend this place for their ribs.
