Shockingly poor service from the manager.

I bought a white chocolate muffin for takeaway. The serving girl asked if I'd like it heated, I said no, as as far as I'm concerned it's not normal to heat sweet muffins - normally only savoury. No issues with the service so far. When I went to eat it, it was very hard. I took a bite and confirmed it was pretty terrible.

I took it back about an hour after buying. I spoke to the manager and said it's hard and it's not good. He said their muffins come frozen and are always served hot. I had not been informed of this when purchasing. He argued with me about getting a refund, and made it sound like I was weird for not having it heated, and made it out as if I'd made a special request about it. But in reality when I purchased the muffin it was a simple yes or no question. He tried offering me other food, but I wasn't very interested. To be honest the muffin was a last resort as all of the rest of the cabinet food looked rather bland to me.

After further arguing (and I'm a patient person) he finally gave me my money back. Then as I was walking away he made further snide remarks blaming me for asking specifically for it not to be heated (which once again, I was not aware this was a special request, or that the muffin wasn't made fresh), and then he aggressively threw the muffin in the bin.

At no point did he listen to what I tried to explain, argued with me, and got angry over $8. Wow. I won't be going back...

I really cant see where the great reviews come from.. unfortunately this has been the worst experience Ive had at a cafe ever. We were met with a counter staff (a young man) who was terribly rude! We understand summer weekends get busy but thats no reason to frown and sigh at a customer placing an order. We were.ordering for 7 people.. so YES it will be a big order!! A request to have cabinet food heated was frowned upon.. enquiry on milk substitution for our coffee was dismissed and it was NOT COOL when we were told off for picking up the wrapped banana bread! Why place it on the counter then!!

Food isnt outstanding us to return and be treated this way... I personally would have just walked away but we were being decent and not wanting to create a scene.

Just terrible.. I hope this young man learns a thing or two on how to treat a...

We have been to coffee cubs throughout nz and have had good experiences, until today. I took my friend from Canada to the mount branch for lunch. There was zero greeting from any staff. My friend enjoyed their hot chocolate & the coffee was good but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the ceasar salad which came with incinerated bacon that was burnt & inedible. The lettuce did not look or taste fresh and for the $$ it was minimal in size compared to other branches who served up an appealing plate of food. Today I got a very sad looking salad and was terrible value for money.

My friend had the seafood chowder which was quite watery in consistency and more like a soup.

Over all, poor value for money and food needs improving to bring the standard up to the standard we have had at other...
