Sidetrack cafe — Restaurant in North Island

You know where to buy a great coffee when u spot a cafe full of locals. So Sidetrack was my go to coffee spot voted by a resounding local presence.

I have to say my decision to not eat was a terrible one. The food cabinet had a full offer of delicious and fresh fare. Gourmet sausage rolls and pies, slices, scones, muffins, wraps plus a ton of wicked looking sweet treats. Great place to stop after burning calories climbing the mount.

Staff were attentive and the coffee was one of the best we had tried (on a par with Tay Street Cafe which is also great). Nice...

Last Allpress coffee I had there recently was undrinkable I left it, the current (young fellah) Barista cannot make good coffee, eggs bene is no longer good either, other food is a range of cakes, meringues etc, pies and cooked dishes. Establishment is comfortable, cosy inside with outdoor seating and tables overlooking the ocean. As your local Google guide I can no longer highly recommend this cafe, I don't like marking a cafe down but I have to be fair and honest, once it was superb now it is disappointing. Enjoyed the delicious halloumi stack this morning. It exceeded expectations! The house made rosti were exceptional, the many different components were all super tasty and every bite filled with flavour and texture. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Mount Big Breakfast and our coffee was hot, strong, delicious and beautifully presented. The two lovely ladies that served us were friendly and professional.
