22/10/23 Another night, another mess from Boneface patrons on my residential building. At 2am, your patrons were drinking beer & being loud in my building’s refuse area. Is taking alcohol off your premises in accordance with your liquor license? I do have pictures of them with their drinks, but for the meantime, here’s the mess they left. Previously, after a party at Boneface where their patrons vomited & urinated outside my window until 3am, I wrote a bad review. The owner apologised & ensured changes would be made. As such, I deleted my review. Which is why I’m disappointed to be here again. Last night there was heavy music blaring til late. I managed to fall asleep, only to be woken at 2am by a group of patrons outside my window, loudly laughing & carrying on. I have photos, but won’t post to protect their privacy. I implore you to br courteous of your neighbours. There is no need for people to gather outside of our windows late at night when leaving your venue. Edits in response to the owner: "I am sorry to hear that it caused you a disturbance when they left and I will be passing this on..." I understand your business includes events, and don't hold that against you. However, I find it unnecessary for patrons to continue festivities outside my window - it’s not too much to ask to consider that I live here, & anything that loud should surely take place within the venue. "I would like to request that you no longer take photos of our staff without their knowledge. Regardless of whether you post it in a public forum or not, that is pretty invasive, especially considering some of those are young women. I'm confident if you had told them to keep it down..." As you're clearly an activist for young women, I'm sure you can appreciate that as a young woman myself, living alone for the most part, that a group of loud men, who've likely been drinking, outside my window late at night is intimidating, & as such, I am not inclined to approach. Taking pictures (from inside my house) is a security measure in such situations. Respectfully, I find it far more invasive that people gather outside the window of my home late at night to continue festivities, than me taking a picture (from inside my home, of disruption outside my house) to justify claims I'm making. In fact, I strongly refute your implication that my response to disruption caused by people at your venue is invasive. It's unnecessary to try shift blame onto me when something related to your venue (albeit, unintentionally) has compromised my peace/comfort within my home. To be frank, if people don't want to be photographed for disruptive behaviour outside my window, the solution seems simple. I would also like to note that this is, in fact, a concern that I raised with you previously. Having people outside (during all hours, not just leaving) gathering around my window in particular, when the loading bay is quite large, is not ideal for me. I'm not insinuating anything sinister about your staff, so please don't make any assumptions on what I've said. The only thing I wish to express is that it does cause discomfort to have people loitering around a window that looks into my home. Second edit: "Sorry to hear you felt that unsafe..." Appreciate your concern, however, I do/did not feel unsafe, & reiterate, I am not implying anything sinister about your staff. What I said was, addressing a group of men late at night post-drinking and asking them to be quiet is intimidating as a lone woman. "On that note, I checked the cameras... Doesn’t seem to corroborate at all with what you’ve said, so unfortunately there’s not much I can do." So, what you're implying is that there were not at least 6 people being loud noise my window from just after 1.20 for about 20 - 30 minutes that night? To my mind, that is "carrying on" - but perhaps we have differing definitions. Finally, let's not conflate different issues. I'm making a fair request that anyone affiliated with your venue, when in the loading bay, have some courtesy for the residents.

Visited for the first time for a music event. Was immediately impressed by the friendly and helpful staff and very cool interior with interesting art and rooftop bar. The brisket burger was outstanding. (I've never had a better burger and probably never will! If you only go there for the burger, it's worth it!). Add to that fantastic live music and delicious cocktails and it's one of the best places in Wellington for a night out!

The best food I had in my 5 day trip to Wellington, bavett steak to die for, deep fried pickles couldn't fault, amazing fried chicken and beautiful lamb loaded potatoes. Will return every time I come back to Wellington. Thanks for such a fantastic dining experience!

We hired one side of the rooftop area for my sons' 30th birthday, and it was the best! Matt and the team were so accommodating of us. We decorated, brought our own music and, they had a bartender on the upstairs bar for us. The service and the food was amazing! So generous with the portions (they put together massive platters of bbq brisket, two kinds of fried chicken, coleslaw, corn on the cob and slider bread rolls). So good, we're still talking about it. Most of our party were Hospo and loved the Sunday Sesh vibe you guys brought to it. Thanks so much Matt and the team - obviously we'll be seeing you...

Admittedly a potentially biased review since I know the owners, but have to say the Tavern is coming along nicely. Had dinner + drinks tonight, Korean Fried chicken burger was great, and the ?pickle/gherkin chips? were an interesting side addition, but went great with their diping sauce. A little too vinegar for my partner, but definitely my taste. Will miss the pool table being gone, but it does free up a lot of space where it was. Be keen to see how things keep...
