Pirie Street Calisthenics Park and Play Area — Attraction in North Island

Really like this park. Always parking and a good variety of things for a few different ages to play on. Has a smallish grass area and basketball hoop as well. Walks in Mt Vic start right from here so you can have a play and a walk in one outing. Possibly the best bit is that its sheltered from the strong Wellington wind. Good green park with activities for kids. A rare find in the city. Springy rubber floor around the bars, good amount of parking. Nice to be amongst the trees keeping fit, you will see walkers, runners, & mountain bikers passing through. Its a bit of a hike to reach if you go walking...
