Bowl and Arrow Orakei — Restaurant in Ōrākei

Bowl & Arrow is a lovely little smoothie bowl bar with two locations in Auckland's central suburbs. I am addicted to their Soulmate bowl, but all of their flavours are rich, creamy and fruity with lots of crunchy and tasty muesli on top from Blue Frog. Their portions are good but perhaps a little more than I would be willing to pay as someone on a student's budget - I can see why their stores are in Orakei Village and Parnell!

I love how they have cards that add up to a discount available, with seasonal specials occasionally so us smoothie bowl lovers can get our fix at a more affordable rate! I often have difficulty eating their fresh fruit on top of the smoothies as they are left with rinds on - I feel that aesthetics have been favoured over practicality in this instance, but it has left them with a stunning Instagram account.

As a suggestion, I would love if they could introduce non-takeaway bowls and smoothies at this branch in addition to Parnell in order to save on packaging and waste as the little booth has enough seating for it. Overall, tasty, healthy, but to be honest a little too out...

Finished work early and fancied trying out the coffee at this place. It was just 4pm and there was a crowd of ladies (in coats) talking and laughing on the stools. Great! I approached and was about to order when I was told abruptly that they were closed accompanied by a look of 'God, can't you tell?'. Well, no I couldn't. There was no closed sign and a group of ladies sat around a cafe with a server talking to them usually indicates it's open. I'm not planning on enrolling in any telepathic courses in the near future so I'll be going elsewhere on my early finishes next...
