The downstairs Cafe is probably one of the worst places I've eaten in quite some time. Disorganised chaos Is one way to put it. I feel a better system with clear barriers to prevent people table hopping and cutting the queue would help. And then staff allowing another table to cut in and place their order while lines of people were waiting for a seat. A seating chart with the tables that are occupied and then crossed off when the next guests approach the desk would stop staff looking so clueless when trying to see if they can seat people. The food was atrocious! I had the chicken schnitzel I was awful the facoccia bun was dry with a wee dolop of dressing under the chicken and then two massive piles of coleslaw on top Hubby had a greasy mess of a so called breakfast bagel. Bagel was slid as a rock. Loud, overpriced, disorganised, barely following covid guidelines and the food was ghastly. I do not recommend and will not be back. P. S your menus are a hot mess, so hard to read when u have to flip the pages upside down and turn them around. Next time click. On the button that says 'flip along the long edge' when double sided printing and dry them off after u clean them they were all...

The Otago Museum Cafe provides a delightful dining experience with its carefully curated ambiance and exceptional service. As an architect, I appreciate the thoughtful design elements that contribute to a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The zoning of the museum, just at the entrance makes you hungry as you enter. All the aroma and people eating. Talk about free will and manifestation of consent eh?? None the less the combination of modern and traditional elements, along with a well-planned layout, creates a comfortable and visually appealing environment. The cafe offers a variety of seating options to cater to different preferences. Furthermore, the staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that visitors feel well-cared for during their dining experience. Overall, the Otago Museum Cafe is a recommended destination for those seeking a satisfying meal accompanied by a great ambiance and...

Service on arrival was good. However, when we asked to add avocado to our breakfast the waiter informed us that they had run out. Later the diners next to us ordered and receive smashed avocado on toast which left us feeling a bit deceived. We then had to wave down a waitress to ask for some cutlery so we could begin eating. The food was quite delicious and the serving size was more than enough. Once we thanked the waitress and paid for our meals another waiter ran us down at the door saying "Hey, I just need to grab some money of ya". He assumed we were leaving without paying, not bothering to ask his coworkers or ask us in the form of a polite question. This ruined the...

Another visit at this awesome destination and another glorious dining experience. The food, the ambience and the service all outstanding making it an ideal experience. Their slogan “ taste experience “ is appropriate to what you get to experience here. Thanks and well done team. We took our fancy visitors from Auckland to this beautiful place to prove a point that Dunners have some stunning eateries. This place is consistent with their service, food and coffees. Love how each dish is created with complimenting flavours and textures. We all loved what we tasted and our visitors couldn't be happier.

PRECINCT cafe at Otago Museum is my regular place to catch up with colleagues and friends over coffee. Today, I had jasmine lime tea, which was incredibly refreshing and organic, instead of a tea bag. I love their gluten-free carrot cake. The staff were attentive and friendly as usual and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Overall, Precinct Café offers an exceptional dining/coffee experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Dunedin.
