Went to try the food as we read in the paper there was new owners. The food was fresh, well prepared, and great taste! Couldn't fault the portion size. The burger had a generous, homemade, flavorsome patty, and the schnitzel was cooked perfectly. The mushroom sauce is creamy and perfect topping. The salad was fresh and prepared nicely. There was plenty of room, and the service from bar stuff was pretty good. Getting charged for garlic butter on the chips was a bit rough, considering the meals and money spent. But to be fair, the prices were set very reasonably to start with. We were a bit concerned the atmosphere might not be right for dinning, given it had a fair few people drinking on a sunny day, however the dinning area was separate and guests were drinking responsibly, so the vibe was nice. Given the wharf and Mitchell's are gone, we are in the market for a good pub meal destination, and we certainly food it here! Extra bonus is...

I’m a regular quiz-goer and normally really enjoy trivia nights, but I’ve been left disappointed multiple times at this venue due to ongoing technical issues. Tonight, we waited an hour while the hosts tried to get the visuals and audio working, only to be told the quiz was cancelled. This was very frustrating, especially since this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

A quiz night is something players look forward to and plan their evenings around, so it’s disheartening when it falls through because of problems that could be prevented with proper preparation and testing beforehand.

I really value a good quiz atmosphere, but I’d love to see the organisers take more responsibility to ensure the equipment is checked and ready before the night begins. With that kind of care, this could be a fantastic venue — but at the moment, the technical difficulties make it...

NOTE: THIS is a new business and owners. Booked our party of 9 only to arrive but no booking. The entire place was starting to fill up.....People of every color, culture and demographic. Service was a little slow but our meals were excellent portions, tasty and good prices. We could see that the staff were run off their feet so we didn't mind The Manager/Owner? Tony made our night. He's very witty (and not too bad looking), was apologetic and served our meals When he realized that my son was 18 TODAY, he invited him to go to the bar for a free drink. We were super lucky to sit right next to the fire. It was lovely and warm. Thanks for taking great care of our loud and large whanau. We'll be back soon. Look forward to changing...
