We went here after roaming around the morning doing activities and were starving and the food did not disappoint. We skipped the appetizers and went straight for the entree. Had the paneer pasanda with garlic naan along with yellow dal tadka. Both the curry and the dal comes with rice so there is that. Between the two of us we devoured almost everything. We had ordered the food hot (spicy) and it was just that. Not over the top chilies but just right. The curry was well made with the paneer extremely soft, the curry made with almonds, green pepper and other spices. The naan was one of the best I've had in a while. It was soft, with abundant garlic plus three big pieces per naan. Much larger than anything I've ever had in any country. Lastly the dal along with the rice just made my afternoon, it was just extremely satisfying. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone visiting Queenstown.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Bombay Palace, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Shatrughan, who provided us with excellent hospitality service throughout the night. The food choices were excellent, but the Naan, Kerala curry and fresh Gajaar ka Halwa were truly standout dishes. The Naan was perfectly cooked, fluffy and had just the right amount of crispiness. The Kerala curry had a perfect blend of spices and was bursting with flavor. And the Gajaar ka Halwa was the perfect ending to our meal, with its sweet and creamy (malai) texture. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Indian restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. We ordered garlic naan, chicken saagwala, and butter chicken, and each dish exceeded our expectations. The chicken in both the saagwala and butter chicken was incredibly tender, and the curries were bursting with flavor. However, the real standout was the butter chicken—it absolutely blew my mind. It's a must-try that I can't recommend enough. I'm so impressed with this restaurant that I plan to visit again before I leave town. If you're looking for exceptional Indian cuisine, this place is a gem. Don't miss out!

This had been a worst experience ever at any restaurant we ever visited. We were embarrassed and felt threatened by the Manager on Duty. Learning about the excellent food at Bombay Palace, we decided to dine in. After waiting for 2 hours we finally got our seat at 8:45pm. We were excited to try various dishes and couldn’t wait since we all were extremely hungry. They finally took our order after 30 mins of wait. We were now anxious to get our food, so after about 1 hour 20 mins, we politely asked the manager how much longer we would need to wait. We don’t know what had got the manager upset but he simply snapped. He started yelling and screaming at us for not having patience. We do understand they are busy and having many takeout order but being disrespectful and being rude is not the way food industry works. The mangers did not stop at yelling and cursing in front of our 11 year old daughter who was in our group but he went to an extent of canceling the entire order and asked us to leave. On requesting him to be calm and be courteous he took the water away from our table and shouted at us to get out of his restaurant. It was very humiliating and embarrassing to get cursed in front of the strangers. Our daughter felt very scared. The manager at one point almost went physical and about to hit one of us when the he told the manager to stop screaming at us. As a tourist in this part of the neighborhood we have felt very threatened and scared by this violent behavior. We would strongly recommend no one should patronize this location and the restaurant. The Manager had a nervous breakdown, we do sympathize with the mental stress he was going through but no one should deserve to be treated the way we were. It felt this restaurant is getting lot of business for the food but if the patrons (& probably the server / cooks) are not respected and treated well, it can lead to potential dangerous situation. Do take into consideration of being treated poorly next time you consider Bombay Palace. Bombay Palace Manager was impolite, rude, threatening, have bad language and very violent person. The incident not only spoilt our perfectly great evening but left a unpleasant memories about our visit to New Zealand. It had been traumatic for our daughter and the patrons who were around us to witness such a unpleasant situation. Stay hungry but do not go to...

Worst customer service ever. The manager was rude and arrogant. He also served less quantity than usual because our order was small. Would never set foot into this place ever again. Avoid this Bombay palace branch at all costs.. He asked us to not eat outside food not knowing what is in the bag. The only mistake we made was eating a small portion of cake left in our jacket the other day we came to his place second time was we were on our way to the airport and there was nothing nearby that was open. The first time we came, he tried to charge us for extra serving which we didn’t order. When I pointed it out, he then sheepishly changed the bill. The second time we came, the manager came rushing towards us when he saw a bag in our hands which was full of souveniers and no food. He instantly made rude comment and that’s when we decided to leave. No fact check was done and he just assumed that we will be consuming food in his restaurant based on a small cake bite we took the other day! Such lack of sensitivity towards customers is highly deplorable in this day and age. We have been Queenstown since last 10 days and have been regularly eating at the Frankton branch of Bombay palace. Anand the manager will testify to this fact. Based on this assumption, we came to the Shotover street branch not knowing that there is a world of difference between the two branches. While the manager at Frankton was courteous and respectful and went out of his way, the manager here was outrageously rude and had no idea on how to create best possible...

Having been in Queenstown for a couple of days, my family and I were looking forward to trying a local desi restaurant. Bombay Palace did not disappoint.

The service was top-notch. The staff were courteous and timely. The food arrived hot, delicious, and with generous helpings in each plate. I especially enjoyed the lamb biryani I had—and if your palate can take it, go for the "Indian Hot" spice level as I did. You'll be hit with equal and healthy doses of taste and extreme heat. It's a fun experience.

The traditional desi music in the background and beautiful paintings resembling the many facets of Indian life and history were a pleasant change from the rest of the restaurants in town. I would recommend rearranging some of the seating, however. The tables where I was sitting were too close to one another, which made maneuvering out of your seat without bumping into others a bit of a challenge. It's not a huge issue, but it was something I noticed and found worth mentioning.

Thank you for a fun and tasty night in Queenstown, Bombay Palace team. And my compliments to the chef(s); your...
