Service: Thanks for the great friendly service. We were a group of 3, one with gluten allergies, the other with dairy and egg allergies. The staff helped checking all our orders and everything came out perfect. Location ✭✭✭✭✭ : Located 2 mins away from the train station it provides easy access for those that require shelter from the rain coming out from the journey. Ambience ✭✭✭✭✭ : ranging from couch seating to smaller tables. F&B✭✭✭✭✭: the food came as requested, well flavoured and nice size portion. The food was well composed with the right amount of meat vs. green portion. The salmon was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy on a bed of the mint/peas/bulghur wheat that was very well prepared. Save some room for the sticky carrot cake which was fantastic. Not too sweet or tangy but the combination of poached pear and carrot, although unusual, conquered the table. Free Wifi - Yes Outlet - Few but available right next to the couch. p.s. special thanks for keeping the things we left behind in our forgetfulness.

Honest review! Having been before we knew coming back while around Dunedin was the thing to do. We had an mishap with the meal that was ordered based on this I'd like to review the consequences of this which I'm really grateful to the staff of Ironic whom were overly apologetic and offered to discount our food for this which made the circumstantial detail forgotten. These guys are great ,they have amazing food and the place is beautiful, that's why it's so popular. Well definitely be back when around and thank you for sorting things out ,it would never put us off . For this reason I could only score a 4 overall on this visit, I know next time we come you'll be back to the 5 star we know , Thank you Ironic.

We decided to go here (group of 4) due to all the awards this cafe had recieved, also using our entertainment book. Went for an early lunch and im assuming they have a different chef that works dinner shift because the food was certainly below standard. My dry, flavourless chicken nachos came with a free eyelash... and noone else at the table was happy with their meals either. My coffee was a "specialty drink" rainbow milk latte or something, which the waiter looked at me like I was stupid when I asked her what it was. Lets just say it looked more like a 2yr olds finger painting than a rainbow. The others large coffees were what you would get as a small at any other cafe I have been to. In addition to the completely average food, and small coffees, I asked if it was possible to get guacamole with my nachos as I didnt want cheese or sour cream and the waitress said she would have to see if there was any. Obviously there wasnt because they appeared with sour cream on the side , yet two other people at the table had meals containing guacamole. Bad waitress or bad cafe im not sure...

Bright and airy with lots of windows around and above. Two sofas by a fireplace and padded seating along one wall complement the 20 or so wooden tables so it’s perfect for couples dining in or groups of friends hanging out. I went there for breakfast, which was wonderful (banana pancakes and mochaccino, plus a green smoothie to ease my guilt over the sugar). Fun decorations - plants on the wall, a portrait of Frida Kahlo, and a silly painting of a girl wearing a mask. Service was quick and friendly. They do takeaway as well but if you’ve come all this way (it’s kind of tucked away in an industrial area across from the old train station) you should dine in. You’ll like it.

The last experience was great but not this time. The waitress gave us two options after we found a curly hair in one of our dishes during eating (Beef Filet Mignon) which we believe from one of their chef beard. Anyway we chose one of the two options (free dessert or remove the cost of drinks) but no option for replacing a new one and we happy to remove the drinks cost. After the meal and we went to pay the bill for 12 meals but it came out that we still charged the full price with drinks. Hopefully this message will improve on food hygiene and don't disappointed customers on any deals.

We all gathered at Ironic after a Funeral. The service was epic and the food was so tasty and yummy; presented beautifully. My salmon roulade was absolutely Delicious and has to be one of my favourite meals I've eaten in a very very long time. I loved the decor and the outside area. I very much enjoyed my beers and food and highly recommend Ironic for a cold Beer, wine, hot drink or something tasty To Eat from the Cabinets or from the menu. I will definitely be back next time im in Dunners. Isn't it ironic ? 😏 😘
