One of the best pies and sausage rolls we have had!
đșïžÂ found this on Google maps and thought it had to be our breakfast stop before going on the Glenorchy trail. We were then recommended to it again by our Airbnb host and thought it must really be good then.
đ„§Â not being big fans of pies, we decided to give it a shot since itâs known to be good for that and were we lucky to have tried! While it is slightly cheesy, the chicken thigh and mushrooms helped to make it acceptable, with a crust that doesnât just fall apart but still is crispy to the bite!
đ the sausage roll was truly unique, having only had it in London, this was quite a different one seeing how big a chunk the sausage is, and how flavourful it is too! The insides of the sausage roll was also moist and wasnât too dry which truly makes for a good sausage roll! We were also lucky to be able to have this since it doesnât have a mix of beef bits in them.
â coffee was also great for the large sized one, definitely a must get when looking for a drink to go with the pastries!
đŽÂ they do have a small tub for returning of cutleries, which helps them manage the cafe and the entire general store which consists of some souvenirs and clothing and general stuff too
Definitely one not to be missed when coming...
Read moreVisited Mrs Woolleyâs General Store a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in Queenstown from Sydney. Whilst my partner and I were there, we had a coffee and some cake, which were both lovely (try the brownies!), and a mooch around the general store itself.
I saw an amazing hand crafted Christmas Tree that I really liked the look of, but couldnât figure out how I would get it back home. For the remainder of our holiday, I kept thinking about this Christmas Tree, so decided to reach out via email to see if they did international shipping.
To my surprise, they were happy to do it, and Hannah (Front of House Manager) was incredible throughout - obtaining postage quotes and updates in a timely manner, and quick to answer my calls when phoning the store. The tree arrived today and Iâm really glad I reached out to them, as itâs such a unique piece.
Thanks to Hannah and Fatima for getting it here in one piece, and the rest of the Mrs Woollyâs team for their hospitality on the day đ
Well worth a visit if youâre in Queenstown or anywhere...
Read moreMrs Woollyâs General Store is located in a small town called Glenorchy, 45 minute drive from Queenstown. Itâs the only store youâll need to visit for all your needs whether youâre a local or a tourist.
General stores are not commonly found, however in smaller secluded or country towns youâll find these stores that sell a variety of goods for your daily groceries, snacks, food & drinks. Mrs Woollyâs is a big and unique general store. They offer the above plus selling other items such as books, clothes, homeware, arts & craft and souvenirs.
The central part of the store is the food & drinks bar. Thereâs a variety of food to choose from such as toasties, bagels, wraps, rolls, cakes, pastries and pies . I highly recommend the flatbread pizzas and caramel & chocolate and hazelnut & ricotta cakes. Drinks there are hot & cold beverages and teas. The coffees are pretty decent compared to the rest of NZ.
Overall, Mrs Woollyâs is a must stop shop if youâre planning a day trip...
