Constellation Cafe — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I usually go there for coffee and sweet stuff. Coffee is always good. No complain. But they have really improve the taste of their cakes,brownies and other sweets. Not delicious at all, not made to authentic recipes, it's like just made a dry cake and cover it with some frosting. My favourite was Tiramisu Cake , it was good months back and then I noticed the quality deteriorates. Gradually decreased the thickness of the frosting. However it wasn't the taste of original Tiramisu Cake but likes the taste. Tried Black Forest cake and it was not near to the quality of an original Black Forest Cake, it was very dry and frosting wasn't the original black forest frosting, I know they can adjust with new things,but still not tasty. And for brownies it was always dry. And sometimes buy their potato wedges which is really good and prices reasonably. Updating my review as I forgot one thing. They have best shakes you'll never get disappoints. I have tried iced chocolate,iced mocha and those tasted so yummy. very thick and tasty. Like to give 5 start rating for coffee ,shakes and wedges. But...

It's a great shame I post this poor review as it had been our regular weekly weekend breakfast place for months. My husband ordered his usual of smashed avocado and peas on toast, normally lovely dish, not today, the only sign that there was ANY avocado was the apparent green colour on bread and that's possibly the peas too, when I complained to waitress I was told it's supposed to be like that, smashed, I said that I expect it smashed but not smeared, she kept arguing and I gave up, I didn't have much success when I came to pay, there was no discount offered, it won't have made much difference dollar wise if some discount was offered, but at least it would have sent a message I was listened to, that someone takes my complaint on board and avoid repeating it, a mistake, i suspect that will be more costly to the cafe than to me. I won't be back if it would be my choice (not always up to me as thereare few of us), lots of places around to choose from, shame...

For a well appointed cafe with an excellent range of food, great coffee and service you can't go wrong with Constellation Cafe. Very professional and chic decor, very comfortable seating either indoors or outdoors or outdoors in a wind protected area. Parking (limited but very handy) on the same level as the cafe, or downstairs (plenty of parks are all times). Staff are super nice, polite and efficient, food is beautifully presented. Plates, cutlery, water glasses etc all meticulous and good quality. Suits either busy professionals seeking a nice place to meet for coffee, casual diners or just somewhere to hang out and read the paper or a magazine - very handy to SH1 motorway on and off ramps and constellation drive - my all-time favourite on the...
