We recently had the pleasure of having lunch at TownTonic in Auckland, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The menu offered a variety of delectable options, ensuring there was something to satisfy every palate.
We started our meal with the egg Benedict featuring cured salmon, a combination that proved to be a delightful flavor pairing. The oat fried chicken had a satisfying crunch, although it was slightly dry for our liking. The grilled halloumi and mushrooms added a savory element to the meal, while the sausages and beef burger satisfied our cravings for a heartier option. The curly fries were a tasty and addictive accompaniment. The French toast was a sweet treat, perfectly indulgent and satisfying.
For dessert, we were treated to the Divine Caramel and Black Forest Crumble. Both desserts were heavenly, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. They provided a fitting conclusion to our meal.
When it came to beverages, the Affogato, Caramel Latte, Pineapple Juice, and iced latte all exceeded our expectations. Each drink was expertly prepared, with the Affogato serving as a particularly delightful combination of coffee and gelato.
TownTonic's environment adds to its charm, as it is nestled in an industrial area with its own courtyard. This unique setting creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
The service we received was attentive and friendly, enhancing our overall dining experience. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the meal.
While the fried chicken was slightly dry, everything else we tried at TownTonic was superb. The overall quality of the food, combined with the pleasant environment and excellent service, makes this restaurant a great choice for a memorable lunch in Auckland. I would certainly recommend TownTonic to anyone looking for a delightful...
Read moreNice place. The drinks however were awesome, I truly enjoyed the drinks. But unfortunately, the food wasn’t great. I ordered beef ribeye. My plate wasn’t really good. It was way too well done and dry. Update: as someone from the restaurant called my friend who reserved a table for us and said my review was unfair,so here is more information. Hopefully it helps the restaurant to improve their service and the readers to decide. We reserved a table for 6 adults and 4 kids. The kids were happy as they could play with each other and have fun. There was a light music playing in the background which I personally liked. Not too loud, not too low, just enough for everyone to enjoy the night. We ordered (for my family) chicken nuggets (for the kid), a bread platter, 3 drinks, mushroom ravioli and beef ribeyes. As stated before, my plate was way too cooked, so it was hard to chew, no greens in the plate whatsoever, not enough sauce to help chewing the hard meat. I forgot to tell the waiter how I wanted my meat cooked and he didn’t ask me either. The other friends’ portions were extremely small for the quality and price. The ravioli, was just OK. Again, the portion was way too small. The break platter, everyone around the table agreed that the bread isn’t freshly made in the restaurant. Just to make it clear, everyone was still hungry when we left the restaurant, to the point that our friends came to our place and we ate the second dinner! I paid $192 only for the two of and our kid, so the expectation is high. All and all, our experience was just...
Read moreExcellent brunch here this morning. We were seated right away due to having a booking and it being relatively empty that time of the morning. The decor was clean , comfortable and had a good variety of seating options. The wait staff were friendly and provided great service. I liked that there were a few vegan options and even a couple vegan dessert options which isn't common. The fresh juice was delicious, as was the soy latte with caramel shot. Our meals were prepared quickly and they arrived well presented. My favourite was the vegan sticky date pudding which was light and moist and yummy. I wasn't sure how the banana and passion would pair but it was just right and the cashew cream on chocolate crumb topped it off. I wouldn't call the Tofu Bruschetta 'crispy' but the flavours worked well together and I'm glad I chose that as my main. My 11yr old decided on a medley of kids meals - Chicken & Hash, Junior French Toast and Chocolate Toast. I was impressed as it was clear to see the same effort and care had been given to the kids meals as the other menu items so anyone who isn't up to a full meal would be more than satisfied with these smaller options. The hash sticks were delicious and she loved the fried chicken as well. She preferred the French Toast over the chocolate toast but both were good in her opinion. All in all an enjoyable time, good sounds and chill atmosphere. We'll...
