So glad it's now open. Been meaning to head over for quite some time since we first found out and it really hit the spot, and the serve was so good! Pricing was as expected and, if I'm honest, on the better side for the quality produced, and given the fact that you get endless salad, rice and miso aswell. Although, we were so full that we ended up not needing to order anymore - we were stuffed! I first encountered Katsu Katsu in Newmarket last year, and it was great, so I'm glad we've got something up here. I also really appreciate the grab and go Onigiri - $4 each, or 3 for $10. I find this to be a such a good good price point for really good and diverse fillings, compared with other places I've been to (which are usually $7-8 each, for mostly huge amounts of rice!). They're much like what you'd find in the convenience stores of Japan, so it's a great easy snack to grab on the go if you don't have time to eat in. We ordered the Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki sets, which were delicious. However I can't stop thinking about that Yuzu dressing on the salad - I could've eaten entire bathfuls of this salad - so much so they'd probably end up removing the 'endless' part of it all. Jokes aside, we were so full that we couldn't have possibly eaten more. Looking forward to heading back and trying more of the menu, especially the udon - which is also at decent price points ($9-10) and with the ability to add toppings, complimentary fried tempura pieces, and spring onion, makes this one of the most generous places I've seen in a while since traversing Ramen Takara in Browns Bay for well over a decade. For a place in a mall, I'm glad to finally have something on the shore which is actually decent, good quality, and authentic. Cannot wait to head back and see what they add to the menu as they go!

Located at the corner of Westfield Albany, TsuruTsuru is a charming spot for udon lovers looking for a quick bite. The restaurant features a sleek black and modern design, and its large doors and open windows let in a refreshing breeze—making it a pleasant escape from the mall hustle. For just $9.90, I ordered the Mostu Nikomi Udon, which consists of hand-cut udon noodles in a flavorful dashi broth topped with simmered beef intestines and tendon in miso. The broth was hot and subtly rich, providing a comforting backdrop for the dish. The udon noodles were perfectly cooked, offering just the right amount of chew. The protein was tender and added that extra layer of texture to the dish. And the serving size was fair for the price, leaving me feeling full and energized for the rest of my workday after my quick 30-minute break. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, and I appreciated the staff occasionally using their native Japanese language, which added a nice touch of authenticity to the experience. In addition to their udon, you can pair your meal with various tempura dishes. Plus, free tempura flakes and freshly chopped spring onions are available to customize your dish further. The only downside I encountered was the lack of complimentary water; you'll need to purchase bottled water if you get thirsty. Overall, TsuruTsuru is a great option for those craving delicious udon in a welcoming atmosphere without breaking the bank. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or a relaxing meal, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Had a great time here! The service was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Ordered the udon, some fried chicken and tempura shrimps, sukiyaki, and hambagu. The first hambagu we received was undercooked due to a kitchen mistake, but the staff sorted it out quickly, offering us a new one with some extra food such as onigiri. Flavours were on the sweeter side for the sukiyaki and hambague. Udon is meaty and salty(still tasty) flavour. Atmosphere is lovely, though with all the doors open, it can get a bit breezy on a windy day. Overall it’s very enjoyable dining experience!
