I highly recommend Double Shot Cafe in Taupo.
The food was great but the customer service was amazing!!!
I'd already worked out that it was more cost effective to get the Big Breakfast and omit the bacon and sausage than it was to get the eggs on toast and add back in the veges but the very friendly cashier did his due diligence by working it out too. Friendly right from the moment we walked in makes a huge difference to the experience.
Then no sooner had I sat down the chef came out to offer me more veges with the meal to make up for removing the meat. And she was very lovely too!!
Going the extra mile and making your customers feel appreciated makes the difference between just having a nice meal and a becoming a raving fan who will refer you to everyone.

Hubby ordered svrambled eggs on toast, with creamy mushrooms and an iced coffee, again with cold toast, and luke warm mushrooms, his scrambled eggs were microwaved which was abit of a let down, the iced...

Normally ok I suspect. But mine was virtually uncuttable. I was forbidden by the others at the table to enlighten staff. So I quietly suffered straining my wrist from the 32 extra kilopascals of pressure I had to exert on the cutting motion. Not to mention the extra 17 chews per mouthful before sending the product on its way to my belly. God knows what happened down there and how much effort the dismantling works...
