Mt last few times of experiences dinning in at Golden Ribbon Glen Eden has worsen and today the was "The WORST EVER!!!" From 6pm, they've already ran out of food so we have to ask them what else do they have for us to order instead? The price have increased dramatically as well as their portion of food. So really, dinning at Golden Ribbon has doubled the price from last year alone! They do not give you enough plates to eat on as we chased the waiter stupidly, they do not have most of the food we wish order, they've taken so long to cook one of our pancit so when i asked to cancel it instead as we've all finished eating, the water came back with the pancit so he suggested that we can take it away instead. I have agreed with it I guess because I felt so sorry for him. When I wanted to order the Pork Kare Kare, he again said they don't have it and only the Beef KareKare with veges. So I said I'll call husband to see if he prefer that? I then went to the cashier to order it, only to be told they've now closed the kitchen? Gold Ribbon Restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic and delicious Filipino food. From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel at home, and the food truly speaks for itself!
Their Palabok is a standout – perfectly cooked noodles topped with a rich, flavorful sauce, chicharrón, and fresh ingredients that bring out the traditional taste of this well-loved dish. Every bite is a burst of umami goodness! The Dinuguan is another must-try. The pork is tender, and the savory, slightly tangy sauce is cooked to perfection, just like how it’s made back home. It pairs wonderfully with their freshly steamed rice.
But the real star of the show is their Ube Cake! Soft, moist, and with just the right amount of sweetness, it’s no surprise why it’s their most famous dessert. The ube flavor is rich and authentic, and the creamy frosting makes it absolutely irresistible.
Overall, Gold Ribbon Restaurant delivers an amazing Filipino dining experience. Whether you're Filipino or just someone who loves good food, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming...

We also got three ensaymada for $10, we haven't tried them yet though because of the intense sugar crash we're currently recovering from.
I have never had halo halo, nor anything ube flavoured, nor pandan, so I have absolutely no idea whether this restaurant makes good food in comparison to other Filipino food. However, I can say that this was all incredible.
The halo halo was sweet with so many different elements that I honestly can't begin to name, I think there was some beans and maybe egg custard and pandan jelly but I have absolutely no idea. The cakes were both super good and not too sweet with the layers of fresh whipped cream and soft cake. The ube cake especially was so good, it was super light and fluffy and just incredible.
The pandan shake was my personal favourite. I don't know how to describe it but my immediate thoughts were that it kind of tastes like vanilla ice cream and cheese cake cookie crusts? I'm not sure if I'm sticking with that description but the takeaway is that it was...
