Black Velvet — Restaurant in Waitematā

Very cool cocktail bar in the style of an old school opium den. There was a jazz singer on site the Friday we went. The acoustics in the venue were super nice. We ordered a few drinks including a funky teapot which we all very much enjoyed. Everything was pretty clean, as far as bars go. To get the drink there was a wait however the floor service was really good. Lovely person coming around to clean the drinks with some small banter. In terms of dress code they are fairly relaxed which is refreshing. Nice crowd, would definitely go again. Unfortunately I didn't get many...

Once classy character Shanghai Lil's. Now another unwelcome trashy South Auckland drunk hole. With yelling cabbages & cabbage class attention seekers in cars blasting noise from fog sirens. They dump their drunk clients on the street who go on to ruin local private, public, business property and ruin others nights starting fights and drama. The irresponsible owners contribute to the king hit culture that killed Fau Vake. Get back to classy Shanghai Lil's or shut this trash...

Security at this venue is disgusting and needs to be fired. I have footage on my phone with them making a joke out of it. I entered to this premises with my partner, I was told I could not get in for no apparent reason. Everyone else around me was more drunk and it appears they only harassed me and no one else. They were trying to act superior and tough and telling me to walk in a line and do this and that. Disgusting behavior, little kids that can't get...
