Domain & Ayr Cafe — Restaurant in Waitematā

We were able to get a table for brunch. The place isn't very big but there are about 5-6 table around. Although the menu said to order at the counter they actually came and took our order. Most of the menu items look good but I came here to try their fluffy pancakes. The pancakes were huge and they were stacked. There was three of them on the plate. I quite liked the compote and fruits around the pancakes but there wasn't enough maple syrup since there were so many pancakes. It did get a bit dry at the end since all the syrup and sauce were already eaten. This could have easily fed 2 or 3 people. I also had an iced chocolate and it wasn't very sweet. Went out for brunch here on a whim as we were staying in Parnell and we’re so glad we did! I got the domain big breakfast and my partner got the amaranth stack, which was vegan. When our food arrived we were stunned by the beautiful presentation and when we went to eat it, it was just as delicious as it looked. I also got an iced mocha and my partner got a smoothie and both of our drinks arrived so quickly and were really yum too. The cafe itself was very cute and had ample seating. Regarding the customer service, the man who served us was so lovely.

I write my comment depnding on the service provided at this cafe. The coffee is not as great, and a small cup of flat white costs $4.50 supposedly becasue it is a double shot, as they claim. My main focus during my visit was the service, and I will never understand why we do go and pay these people when they just take the money happily but do not have the courtesy to even reply to you when you say "thank you", as if you are talking to yourself. I find that very rude and I wish the girl at the till with the tatoo on her arm would at least reply or smile or make you feel that you are welcomed...but she never does. I will Not go...
