Second stay here, so had a different layout each stay. the rooms are a nice, clean and a good size. Had Twin bed room layout (2beds in the room). this stay the room was an open floor plan. It didn't come with a bath but had a bigger closet space and mirror. The Last room I stayed in had a wall to separate the room from the lounge and had a corner bath/shower. A nice little size balcony that allows you to look out on the city depending on the room you can get a nice view of the skytower. What I love about this place is the shower pressure, really good pressure. Each room has a little kitchenette that comes with the basic fridge, microwave, jug, hob and toaster along with cooking utensils and that. Restaurant and bar next to it is great, a bit of a weird layout to get to the bar and that but a rum and coke is cheaper than the beers. Yummy food. Can organise group buffet dinners which our work did for our group dinners. Close to the CBD so if you didn't want to drive Uber is cheap as. Forgot to take photos of room, but did get a couple of view shots.

My kids said it was the biggest dump they have ever stayed in..... read on..... If you took away the towels duvets etc this place is so old it even has popcorn ceilings no ceiling fan in bathroom leaving the bathroom full of condensation. It would be super easy to install a window fan or exposed ducting fan system to achieve this. The front receptionist was very defensive about the place. The air conditioner didn't work at 11pm at night. I had one day in Auckland and the reception wanted me to wait fot their maintenance man to explain the unit problem - I just didn't have time (and why should i wait the room should be up to scratch in th first place) . The sink is probably 50 years old at least. See the photo of the worn out plug hole. The place smelt like old mop. TV was tiny. For the carparking you generally park sideways on a slope. They had uber bikes blocking fire exits an the walkthrough to the cars was 50 years old and never updated. I wish I had of taken more photos because this place is more dump than Hotel.

We were allocated a room in a separate block to the main building, which more closely resembles a motel, with covered outside walkways to the rooms and you can handily park your car just outside. There is a nice restaurant between in the same way 2 buildings, which opens for breakfast if you don’t want to prepare your own. It is situated in a quiet residential area out of the city centre, which helps a good nights sleep, but does mean that is quite a walk to the centre if you haven’t got or don’t want to use your car. We booked a King Bed Studio room and were allocated number B33, which was spacious and had a separate ‘kitchenette’ and bathroom. Everything was well maintained and very clean. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful in planning our visit to the city.

I found the room to be a little less than what i was expecting especially for the area that we were in and the price we paid. The first thing that I noticed was that the room has a very interesting and outdated layout. We stayed one night in the south wing which has different room options. In this room the shower floor had been raised leaving the shower head to gently apply pressure to my ribs. I almost had to sit down to wash my hair. It makes quite the acrobatic experience to step out of the shower on the floor. The rest of our week plus long stay we moved to the main building of the hotel. We just didn't really understand what the room was trying to achieve. It feels like it's had new Air Conditioning and a lick of paint and call it a 5 star...You cannot fully open the door to the apartment as it bangs into the bathroom door which is just a plastic slide door offering little sound proofing. The bed faces a wall with a desk and TV sat on the right so if you wanted to relax in bed you will bend your neck out of shape to watch it. Or do what we did and re-arrange the room so that it isn't so annoying. Easy fixes just minor details. Wifi is available in both "wards" of the hotel but is very slow and intermittent. I wouldn't rely on it for much outside of waiting for emails.

Room service was sub standard. A fee charged regardless of time and regardless of wait times. Had one issue where food was delivered burned and dry - did they not even look at it before attempting to deliver it? Apologies were made and a replacement meal was made half an hour after but it's just such a basic thing that shouldn't happen if you want to charge a surcharge for it.

The rooms were cleaned when we wanted them cleaned and they did a great job. Couldn't fault their friendliness and professionalism in getting the job done. Aside from an occurrence where I was just out the shower, had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and a house keeper knocked once and then entered the room. I think she was a little embarrassed given the layout the door was next to the shower door ;)

Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating and were happy to make small talk after a day out showing interest in where we had been. Its a friendly atmosphere that helps prepare you for a substandard room experience in our opinion.

Car parking is a bit of a test. Given the slope of the property it would be hard to do much else with it but just be mindful of some uneven pavement in the wet as it is quite dark out the back or down the lower end of the car park lot. I did have feedback regarding a large tree in the car park but that has been removed since our stay so have adjusted feedback accordingly.

In summary: There are better hotels around the area for what you can pay. The customer service and experience is great but it gets let down by attention to detail and an outdated feel. I wish I could have...

During our recent visit to New Zealand - during our long stay in Auckland - we stayed at Quality Hotel Parnell. It is a most conveniently located hotel suitable for families. Parnell is a posh neighborhood of Auckland, picturesque, tranquil, peaceful - "far away from the madding crowd" - yet - within walking distance from Newmarket, the prime shopping centre of Auckland, and Downtown Auckland’s Central Business District, and, of course, the lovely Parnell Village with its restaurants and cafes, and the beautiful Parnell Rose Gardens, Dove-Myer Robinson Park and and Eric Ambler Lookout down Gladstone Road from where you get a spectacular view of Auckland and its Harbour. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is excellent, the staff is warm, friendly and efficient, there is a good restaurant for dining, and there is free WiFi throughout the premises of the hotel. If you are a tourist - there are many attractions like the Auckland Domain/War Memorial Museum and Quay Street/Harbour within walking distance - and you can get convenient buses by walking a short distance to Parnell Road to all attractions and destinations in Auckland. Also, the Auckland Explorer Bus has a stop just outside Quality Hotel Parnell. I enjoyed walking around the lovely locality of Parnell - especially my morning walks in the Parnell Rose Gardens and Dove-Myer Robinson Park. We had a most pleasant stay of a total of around 2 weeks at Quality Hotel Parnell. What I liked most about the rooms was the complete "kitchen unit" with full-fledged cooking facilities (Fridge, Electric Kettle for making tea/coffee, Microwave Oven, Electric Hotplate, Crockery, Cutlery, Utensils etc) - this is a boon for families. This was our first visit to Auckland New Zealand and we are glad that our Travel Agent booked us into Quality Hotel Parnell. Hopefully - we may visit Auckland again - and - after our excellent experience - we may stay in Quality Hotel Parnell - and look forward to a pleasant and comfortable stay at Quality Hotel...

Nice spacious room, a bit out of way of town but still nice hotel. Warning: The hotel's on a slope so be sure you're good with walking a steep hill if you have a room that's lower down. If you have problems walking I suggest talking to the hotel in advance. Room: The room was large, we had two king beds, a sizeable living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Room cleaning service is only after the 3rd day but you don't really need it until then usually. Location: Beware! Check the elevation! It's hilly terrain here so small distances will take longer than you would expect. I do not suggest taking public transit with luggage to/from here as it's quite a walk down the hill to the bus/metro. But it's a good workout when you want to walk into town. I wouldn't suggest driving yourself in town as traffic is crawling for a good chunk of the day, but it's cheap to do a ride sharing app and there's plenty of drivers for say Uber less than 10 minutes away. You can walk one way to/from town but it's like a mile (3km) of hilly terrain. Walking both ways would be a workout but sorta fun! Luggage hold: We had a flight leaving in the evening and they were able to hold our luggage for the day until our check in time. Breakfast: We bought the breakfast package: it's a highly convenient buffet at the restaurant co-located with the hotel/conference center. The breakfast is better than a holiday inn. It's a buffet and decently priced for the quality. You can get eggs (just poached though, no scrambled), bacon, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, pastries, a large hash brown pancake, toast, croissants, muesli type cereal, normal cereal, tea, coffee, fruit salad, yogurt, and some other stuff I've forgotten. Overall pretty good, you can get enough food to...
