Very disappointing. After reading the reviews I thought we couldn’t go wrong. A wine bar with a small list has to do everything well. For me it went bad from the start. Serving the wine in a coffee glass might be trendy and cool but there is a reason why wine should be served in large glasses; to bring out the aromas. The first red I chose was unavailable; not good when you only have six reds on your list. When I chose the Pinot instead (only one to choose from), the barmaid half filled my glass with the dregs of a bottle that was clearly left over from the day before and then topped it up with a newly opened bottle. Never a good choice with Pinot. I should have been more assertive and refused it. The result was cold, flat and totally lacking in any nose. I would give the place one star for the ambience but you can get much better by walking a bit further...
Read moreLocal haven for fantastic food, friendly service and sneaky boozy lunches. The sandwiches are too beautiful to call 'sandwiches'... fresh baguettes a parisian wouldn't push aside and the fillings are super inventive yet balance perfectly. Excellent mix of healthy and indulgent. The vibe is secluded and sensual. Knowledgable staff, relaxed class and plenty of options. It's small inside so tables can become cramped a little quickly but it's to-be-expected boutique. Highly recommend a visit... almost looking forward to going back work to pop in...
Read moreThis place is really nice for a light dinner, (still a good range of main dishes available). Unfortunately our dinner experience wasn't the best as the restaurant was busy, busy, busy and service wasn't really organized (understaffed) and food took bit long to be served, I'm sure it was one of those nights for us as a customers, only one beer on tap but covered with a small but good range of bottled beers. Hospo is like that sometimes a lot staff on duty and restaurant not really busy and back wise. We'll back, no drama I think next time will be...
