I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Argentine BBQ restaurant, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The authenticity and quality of the BBQ food were evident from the very first bite.
The meat, a central element in any Argentine barbecue, was cooked to perfection. The cuts were tender, juicy, and packed with rich, smoky flavors that spoke volumes about the chef's expertise and the restaurant's commitment to traditional Argentine grilling techniques. Each piece, whether it was the succulent ribs, the perfectly charred chorizo, or the melt-in-your-mouth beef, was seasoned impeccably, enhancing the natural flavors without overpowering them.
The accompanying chimichurri sauce was a revelation, offering a fresh, vibrant contrast to the robust meats. This classic Argentine condiment, with its blend of parsley, garlic, vinegar, and a touch of chili, added a zesty, aromatic layer that elevated each bite to new heights.
Beyond the meat, the sides were equally impressive. The grilled vegetables, marinated and charred to perfection, provided a delightful balance to the hearty meats. The empanadas, with their flaky pastry and savory fillings, were a standout appetizer, showcasing the diversity and depth of...
Read moreTonight my partner ordered Short Rib and I ordered Pork Belly. Both meats were over cooked and burnt. The Short Rib was dry and had a straw texture to it as if it was over cooked the day before and just reheated to serve. The Pork Belly was burnt, so much so, that when I took my first bite it tasted like I was eating charcoal. The only good thing was that the sides, salad and fries were great. My partner only took a couple of bites of his ribs before we sent both meals back to the kitchen to re-do considering his meal alone was over $50.00. When reserving us with new meals, they served us our separate meals on one plate. Not impressed with the quality of the meats especially if you're expecting us to pay over $50.00 for one meal but what made it worse was the customer service. We walked out disappointed and date night ruined because of this horrible experience here. Can appreciate that there are some bad days in the kitchen but that's when customer service needs to at least try make up for it but we were just...
Read moreFirst time here and we were looking forward to some stunning Argentinian BBQ. Staff were friendly and arranged a table for us during a reasonably busy time (around 1pm).
We ordered the beef empanadas - which were fantastic. Unfortunately though, that's where the goodness finished. Our mains consisted of 1 x short ribs ($40) and 2 x Parrillada ($40 each). When we asked, we were told they'd be cooked medium/medium rare.
On arrival, it was clear that all the dishes were far from M/MR. All the meat was overdone and dry, no juices to be found and tough to chew through. I will say that the bark on my ribs was delicious though, and they were well seasoned. The fries we ordered were bang on... but we weren't there for the fries.
I would add that we had watched other meals being delivered prior to receiving ours, they all looked juicy... so perhaps it was just our order that went awry this time. Nevertheless, my two colleagues and I probably won't be back. Not worth taking the chance when paying...
